Cannon will go down in history as the one who let a felon rule her world. That's on her.

Judge Cannon has provided measured and thoughtful adjudication in the Trump matter. As a paralegal I have a reasonable understanding of the legal issues. Jack Smith was not confirmed for the position of special prosecutor & has twisted the law into a pretzel in furtherance of obvious Democrat bias & possibly corruption. Judge Cannon may be one of the few remaining strict constitutionalists with a temperament like Scalia to defend our Constitutional Republic.

She's obviously in the bag for trump. She's an unqualified moron that absolutely should not be on the bench. trump appointed LOTS of unqualified, political hacks that had no business on the bench and this moron is EXAMPLE #1.

I am a US Citizen and Voter. The Department of Justice (representing me and millions of voters) is reporting many, many delays in its case before Judge Aileen Cannon. In order to make an informed vote, I must have accurate information about alleged criminal activities by Donald Trump. Judge Cannon is obstructing my ability to make an informed vote. Judge Cannon should recuse it be replaced by a more experienced Judge as soon as possible (05-12-2024

I hope she holds both sides' feet to the fire and runs the show with impartiality. Set a schedule and stick to it -- just like every other defendant. "Equal justice under the law" and all that jazz. If the govermnent has the proof, let the jury decide. Don't ti[p the scales either way, evcen though she's a federalist through and through. This may actually be a fair fight as the government's case is, as usual, overwhelming, but Trump is so beloved and it only takes one true believer to hang a jury. That is, if AC keeps her thumb off the scale. Let the show begin.

This [Redacted by Ed.] judge has cost the nation hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees, staff time, holding up vital Investigations, managing media inquiries and paying her own personal salary. To name only a portion of the money Cannon caused to be spent out of the taxpayers’ pockets. Cannon is a disgrace.

I am almost sure that every citizen in the United States can admit that this judge is bias and one sided in her decisions and she just proved just that in the case of Donald Trump case ... Appeals court said NO!!!!! and Supreme Court said NO!!!!!! to the key issues to her biased rulings without being based on the well-established law. The question remains how in the world this type of judges has long term and lifetime appointments? So, they can freely rule for their favorites!? United States making a joke from themselves by about allowing lifetime appointments of such bias judges and trashing our image internationally and domestically by a such behavior...why in the world I have to trust our constitution or our judicial system when such events happen by whatever corrupt or bias or any other reason brought by such judges who are the ones have to protect our image in the eyes of public ... if we allow without consequences of such behavior, we have no democracy and we shouldn't send false signals of pretending United States is a savior of democracy ... fortunately there's only a handful of such judges of such bias behavior and this judge one of them ... in my opinion there's must be some accountability for bias and corrupt actions and stopped hiding under judicial immunity ...

Spot-on comment Criminal Def Attorney! And of course, if it were a Ramirez, Goldberg or anybody other than a Trump, these arguments would be met with a swift denial. And the Federalists (of which she is one) complain about originalism and judicial restraint. Wow, you can't get more unrestrained than this gumbo of bad law. The issue is that going to the 11th Circus (LOL) would take time -- even on an expedited basis. I'm not up on the Circuit's current composition, so who knows whcih way it would fall?

From Bloomberg Law: Several legal commentators swiftly condemned the decision on Twitter. Former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, who was a senior member of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team during the Russia investigation, called it “nutty” and “lawless.” New York University law professor Chris Sprigman said it was “partisan hack judging,” while prominent lawyer Ted Boutrous derided Cannon’s order as “the opposite of judicial restraint.”

I am a lawyer who practices criminal defense regularly in federal courts nationally. I was a prosecutor for 13 years before that. I've never before posted on this site, but Judge Cannon's ruling temporarily enjoining the Trump Mar-a-Lago records investigation was so shockingly dumb that it merits comment. How can any judge rule (especially after taking days to contemplate the decision, knowing it would be scrutinized by everyone) that the government can conduct a national security assessment of the documents Trump kept, but not a criminal investigation, until the special master's work was complete? Literally everything the government might do from this point forward has elements of both. Who touched the classified documents? Why were they taken in the first place? Why had access to the information? Were the given to anyone? What was the reason that Trump's lawyer/custodian of records falsified a document saying that everything was turned over? All of these questions are pertinent to both a criminal investigation and a national security assessment. The fact that she thought this was somehow a workable solution speaks volumes not only about her legal acumen, but her basic intelligence. It is a terrible omen for litigants who come before her in the future.

She lacks understanding of even the most basic legal concepts like equality under law, (even though it’s written over the entrance to the Supreme Court!) Want proof? Read her September 5, 2022 Decision on Donald Trump’s motion seeking the appointment of a special master (he’s “unique”)
