Judge Plese is punctual to hearings and polite and respectful at oral argument, but has a flawed approach that comes across as a severe plaintiff bias and/or hometown attorney/client bias. Local plaintiff's counsel has filed numerous questionable motions that breach local rules with almost every filing without consequence of any kind. These filings are over page limits, omit any legal authority, are tardy/late, omit proposed orders, and rehash previous motions. Apart from acknowledging them at oral argument, Spokane local rules may as well not exist before Judge Plese and cannot be relied upon to curtail improper and substandard filings. Plaintiff's counsel has been permitted to make numerous improper statements outside of the record, and said counsels' documented unprofessional and inflammatory conduct outside of the courthouse goes without reprimand or comment. On a recent hearing for a motion flawed both procedurally and substantively, Judge Plese stated she would grant Plaintiff's motion but could not articulate the relief Plaintiff would receive thereby. This same flawed motion would have been rejected in federal court before the deadline to respond lapsed. Although Judge Plese is punctual to hearings, it has been about 6 weeks since Judge Plese heard oral arguments on a premature and easily contradicted motion for summary judgment. The parties are still awaiting a ruling.
