It was announced in October that Judge Perkkio was resigning. There are no details as to why she is resigning. Does anyone know? NB: I mean know, not guess.

It is beyond disturbing that Judge Perkkio can remain on the bench. She has an overwhelmingly negative reputation by every attorney I’ve consulted with, and her conduct is absolutely deplorable. She has a blatant unwillingness to fairly and appropriately apply the law and her ability to do so appears non-existent. She has denied my children necessary therapeutic and medical services that they have been referred for by numerous providers. She enables perpetrators of domestic abuse to continue to harm their victims, and as in my case, continues to put the children more and more frequently into the care of my abusive ex husband, who has also repeatedly been investigated and dealt with by CPS for his neglect and abuse towards the kids. She is grossly biased towards certain kinds of litigants, and refuses to consider facts when presented. Recently, I presented an evaluation as an exhibit at a hearing for the third time. Meaning, it was the third time that exhibit was used. She paused the hearing and said “Wait- I’ve never seen this before.” So she could review it. And yet she claimed to have thoroughly reviewed all the filings ahead of time on each occasion. She clearly had not in any of the 3 times it was submitted. Most recently in a custody hearing, she made her decision and wrote her 21 page ruling the day BEFORE we even had the hearing. This was evident by the fact she had it filed and served to both parties in less than 10 min of the hearing ending, and the hearing was first thing in the morning. Once again, she placed the children back into the hands of the abuser, while there was no support for him having the children whatsoever. These are special needs children who will forever be traumatized by her actions. I am not sure what needs to be done to get her off the bench, but she is putting every child at risk that comes before her, and the state needs to recognize the trauma being caused by this horrendous judge.
