Yes, she's smart. Yes, she reads everything. She is punctual and a hard worker. She is also rude, snippy and belittling to the attorneys in her courtroom. Some attorneys will try to make it sound like she is only rude to attorneys if they are ill prepared: not true. I have had no missteps in her courtroom, and in fact, she has granted almost every motion I have filed in her court. She's just rude. She is the exact opposite of Judge Fitzwater. He too is smart, fair and a hard worker. However, unlike Judge Lynne, he is courteous to everyone in his courtroom. Judge Fitzwater has the perfect temperament for a federal judge, Judge Lynne does not.

Judge Lynn is scary smart. She will have read the parties' papers and will know law cold. She insists that the lawyers who appear before her know the rules and follow them, but she is not unnecessarily punitive regarding a laywer's honest missteps. While she can display a flash of temper, it is ususally the result of an attorney who has wasted the court's time or is unprepared.

A little mercurial, but brilliant, scholarly, and scrupulously fair. She will tell you more about your argument than you knew when you made it, and it will be a better argument because you made it to her. It can be unpleasant if you don't know what you're talking about, but you will never feel like a good argument has been so thoroughly and even-handedly considered than when you are in her court room.

Recently appeared before Judge Lynn on a Motion to Dismiss in a civil RICO action brought by a pro se litigant. She was well prepared, very focused on the important issues, and up on the law. The pro se Plaintiff was very emotional & his argument wandered all over the place, but she was very patient with him, and tried very hard to keep him focused on the issues critical to his case.

You must have her in complex cases. Judge Lynn is the finest Judge I have ever appeared before. She is very smart, knows patent law, is quick, studies the briefing and has inciteful ways of trying cases. Great. Very great
