She handled the Alex Jones trial well, but is generally very frustrating to deal with. She makes rulings off the record during status conferences that are either not docketed at all or are docketed incompletely or inconsistently. She also appears to be very plaintiff-oriented.

You've got to admire a judge, a referee of sorts, who follows the laws of evidence and faithfully calls balls and strikes even when presented with such a loathsome individual as Alex Jones. You could almost see the disbelief on her face as Jones was shouting his talking points (not providing testimony), but Judge Bellis is far too judicious to let the mask of impartiality down in front of the jury. Of course, everyone is repulsed by Jones' despicable behavior at trial and away from the trial, but then there's Judge Bellis, appearing wholly impartial, holding both sides to the laws of evidence and trying to maintain order during wartime. You don't get to be a judge by being the bottom of the barrel and lacking. Judge Bellis got there because she's smart, honest, ethical, compassionate, fair, and she's held in high regard by her peers, on the bench and at the bar. Bellis appears to be a star, dealing heroically with a very difficult case and very diffciult characters.

Wow. She is laboring under very difficult conditions with the dynamics of Alex Jones being such a runaway witness. She is dealing with it as well as any judge can be expected to. She is patient but firm. I hope it's not such a mess tomorrow. Wow. Such fireworks. Better than prime time TV, but for the fact that it recounts such sadness and horror.

She ran the Bridgeport court for years. She ran it like a circus. She favored a handful of local plaintiff attorneys who were less than ethical. She was extremely plaintiff oriented. What kind of judge would accept an award from the plaintiff's bar and have it displayed in chambers?
