Benjamin T. Reyes

Benjamin Reyes II displays limited knowledge on civil matters and historical case law. He also displays a lack of ethics by refusing to recuse himself when the record clearly shows material bias. Benjamin Reyes II should be removed as a judge since he does not serve the public interest. In fact, his actions and rulings serve to weaken public confidence in the judicial process. Without integrity and confidence, the judicial system can no longer effectively function.

This judge protects individuals who abuse children and ENSURES through legal means that children are not protected. He firmly believes children are not to be believed. I’d hold my children close if you’re dealing with this judge for custodial matters. May god be with you.

Reyes is an interesting judge. He does not say much during a hearing on a motion and will allow both parties to speak. He may ask one follow up question in a guise to make it seem as though he is pondering one side's argument but won't discuss anything directly with a party or try to convince a party why he made a ruling. He stares at you with a blank face as if he is not even paying attention and he ALWAYS adopts his tentative ruling despite being against code, case law, etc. There is not one case of him amending or changing his tentative ruling. I believe it is because he does not read any of the motions other than perhaps the introduction and conclusion, and relies on his clerk to do everything. Certainly he does not research case law on his own because his ruling have recycled paragraphs which show he does not even use specific case law pertinent to the specific facts in front of him. There has been instances where he does not know the basic facts presented to him which indicates he does not read anything. He is cordial and nice, but he does not correspond with attorneys, likely because he cannot present any legitimate argument and merely rules based on his personal beliefs. His rulings have misspellings, poor grammar, and are copied and pasted from his and other judge's previous rulings. This judge will never do what is fair, never re-consider his own ruling in good faith, or ever do anything that is against the interest of the underdog. This judge is an underdog/small person's dream. He hates corporations, wealthy individuals, and many (including me and several other attorneys I know) think applies "reverse discrimination". If you get this judge, get to another one as quick as you can.

Bia, UNJUST, LIKES his lawyers he mentors; he rules in their favor over-zealously.While leaving other litigants he dislikes with zero.

judge Reyes is extremely biased and unprofessional. He has caused me and my children undue harm, and did not honor their best interests. He ordered that our children be raised by an abusive parent, and cut the protective parent completely out. He threatened to put the children into the foster care system as if that was a goal. His soft voice and meek demeanor is manipulative when you hear his verdict. He's scary!!!

I am an Melanated that had full faith in my ability to represent what’s best for my child and myself even with BTR biased judgements and candor in the courtroom. I had custody of my daughter for eight years and constantly being harassed by mother with Cps, allegations of abuse, stalking and mental and emotional abuse of my daughter and myself. I have detailed my position in trail with BTR but he refused to hear my witnesses and allowed the plaintiffs (Bay Area legal aide) to usurp all of the time by playing games and using two lawyers to present information that wasn’t there. My eight year old daughter was talked into falsified testimony at Kaiser, Cps investigation was unfounded and Btr wrote an order that was confounding and confusing to police that refused to enforce it due to its lack of specific guidelines. BTR could have fixed his mistakes and I’m sure was privy of the gaping holes in his orders. When we first started all these procedures BTR stated that his relative goes to school with my daughter and it is a private school or which BTR has financed. I insist that he recuse himself because of his implicit biases. I was also give a DVRO and BIP with there being any evidence or a way to counter the hearsay that caused these allegations. I was never charged, convicted, arrested or anything else. CPS said that nothing happened. BTR IS PREJUDICED, Biased and Racist. [Redacted by Ed.]
