Amazing! She gives people chances to get better and amend and yet she knows when and how to deliver consequences. She listens. She observes. She’s impartial. She knows when to act. I spent months in Judge Beatty’s courtroom observing her and others as my non-medicated adult mentally ill child was in jail for assaulting me. I was there to support my daughter. I’m so very grateful for Judge Beatty’s intervention. My daughter would probably still be in isolation for another 7 months in the jail had it not been for Judge Beatty ordering the mental health hospital to come and get her. My daughter is better with mandatory meds. I am so grateful and also filled with loss at Judge Beatty’s retirement. I am happy for Judge Beatty and wish the best for her, but Shasta County has lost an excellent and Honorable Judge. It will be tough to fill her shoes. Thank you Honorable Judge Beatty.
