I am so glad that this judge got removed. I dont know who paid the person that left the last review to make it seem that she is so nice because everyone that has had her as a judge knows how bias and mean she is. She has abused her power and has caused my children anxiety and stress. My next step is to make a formal complaint on this judge. She does not deserve a seat nowhere in the court system. She is what you call evil. As everyone can see all she has is bad reviews because that's what she deserves. But there is a God and he sees everything and she has made alot of families suffer.

She's the best judge I've ever had the privilege to observe. The folks talking trash on this site fail to realize the base premise of a 'good deal'. Humble, intelligent, and equity forward; Judge Garrett does not make decisions that are easy - she makes decisions that are fair and provides every opportunity in terms of chances and resources. She was not removed for misconduct. She was transferred alongside many judges which is normal following the appointment of a new Chief Justice. I suggest all of you try reading a book and stop pretending not to be abusive, neglectful of children, or wealthy people that pay lawyers because they can afford to keep fighting in a divorce to prove their spouses (of over ten years that receive lower wages and have shared children) deserve less.

Hello all, if your wondering why when you look up “who is the worse judge in Long Beach California” it’s because she was reassigned due to misconduct and let’s applaud for the people who will come down the pipeline. However the reason she’s not coming up is because she was reassigned for to misconduct. The new judge is Diana Tseng. Let’s hope she gives US a fair trial this time!!

Terrible. She allowed my abusive husband to steal my home from me and displace me while I sat there without an attorney in her “fair and equitable court” as a disabled domestic abuse survivor. She coddled my husband when she caught him in a $250k lie yet she believed all his lies against me and completely ripped me apart for even beginning to open my mouth. Carla Garrett also showed no concern for my grandson when my daughter went through her court making statements regarding him that “we are going to rip this bandaid off.”

If you and/or your children have been wronged by the terrible and evil Carla Garrett, let it be known that by end of January 2025, she will be OUT of the Long Beach court and you will be getting a new judge. Thank God she is going to be gone soon - God is good - all the time!

This is the worst judge you could have on your family law case. She is bias and rude. She does not care about the child’s best interest and will rather give custody to the abuser. She does not let you speak but lets the abuser speak all he wants and gives him a pat on the back for being an alcoholic and a abuser. My kids are suffering and I’m really looking into finding a way to sue her. She needs to be taken off that bench. She screams at you and rolls her eyes like if she knows you and your kids personally and she doesn’t. I really think people should get together so we could remove her. She is hurting families and children.

Judge Carla L. Garrett is the worst Family Law judge me and my family have ever witnessed on the bench. This judge simply doesn't care when a child reports being sexually abused. I encourage people who have cases in her department to read the book that she wrote, "Bouncing Back After Dropping the Ball". It is "a novel filled with salacious acts of betrayal." This narrative doesn't appear to be a coincidence. I believe Carla L Garrett is biased and aggressive. She interrupts me and rolls her eyes to any of my concerns. She cared less about what I said. She favored the respondent who is my abuser, who has trouble keeping a job, and who keeps violating the order. The respondent could do no wrong and with every violation she rewards him. She took my daughter away from me and granted primary custody to him. Anything that the respondent spewed out she believed. I honestly believe it’s because he is a person of her background. The police reports held no weight in the court. She ruined my life and my daughter’s life. She should not be able to preside over family law.

She is in love with her power and loves to berate you endlessly just because she can. She constantly interrupts attorneys when they are trying to make a record. She is also the worst at a settlement conference. She has ZERO skills to settle cases. ABUSIVE, MEAN -spirited. Needs to be removed. JUDICIAL MISCONDUCT to the HIGHEST DEGREE.

This judge could care less about kids ! She is horrible and should not have any children’s lives in her hands !

She is the WORST! Does not have the child's best interest at all. She would rather hand a child over to the abusive parent, even after finding clear evidence of domestic violence, instead of awarding sole custody to the parent who has done everything right to raise the children and has never abandoned them. Garrett is disgusting for turning a blind eye to DV, subjecting innocent children to the monster that is, the abusive parent. May she go to hell for this. I hope one day, this type of judgement happens to her own children's children so she can feel the pain that she has inflicted carelessly to many other mothers and innocent children who are suffering daily due to her poor decisions and lack of good judgement.
