I strongly disagree with the comments here. Judge Hubner is compassionate and takes the time to do what is best. She carefully weights her decisions and takes time to understand her cases. She is no longer in family court in Ventura, and that is a loss for those of us who appear frequently in Department 33.

Judge Hubner is unfit for the bench. She is unprepared, disorganized, and easily manipulated by aggressive attorneys. Her dismissal of litigants and disregard for the best interests of children makes her a liability to any case. If assigned to her, file a Peremptory Challenge immediately. In Ventura, you typically have 15 days from assignment to strike her and request a new judge. Don't wait. Protect your case and your children by filing for substitution today.

Judge Hubner is “serving” (and I use the term extremely loosely) in Ventura Department 33, Family Law. Having watched nearly all Ventura Judges handle a variety of matters, I can state in all honesty, that this Judge may be the most overtly biased, boorish, unreasonable, unobjective, brash and dishonorable adjudicator I have seen on the bench, anywhere. Get your 170.6 peremptories ready, she is not qualified for a position anywhere near the bench. Presiding Judge Guasco needs to get an immediate handle on this run-amok jurist. She is an embarrassment to our system of law.

My sole experience concerning Judge Hubner concerns an ex parte matter on which she has refused to actually rule without explanation, while penalizing my client for entirely bogus reasons. Judge Hubner appears to have no sense of honor or decency.
