Judge Cadet finally recused from my case after a denied motion to disqualify her under CCP 170.1 due to severe bias and discrimination against a disabled and indigent litigant. After almost 2 years of her orders favoring a well off male represented by a prominent attorney firm, a pro se litigant was able to remove her off the case. I complained to the Presiding Judge and Commission on Judicial Performance which seemed not to be swayed by judge's behavior. However, after this recusal CJP will hopefully reopen the case as she practically admitted her bias with her recusal and now I'll be able to file a motion to vacate 2 years worth of court orders. Judge Cadet's insufferable conduct led me to disability and unemployment. I was severely depressed because of her rulings. But something had obviously changed since she recused voluntarily either due to pressure from the Presiding Judge or because she finally realized that that she got herself into a bigger trouble than she originally hoped to get away with. I highly recommend to file verified statements of disqualification against her. She is truly dangerous in family court.

Judge Cadet should not be a judge.

Judge Cadet should not be a judge. She is a nice person it seems, but she is wholly incompetent as a judge. We all thought she might be good as she was a federal prosecutor. NOPE. She now gets CCP 170.6'd ALL the time. She is dangerous to domestic violence victims. She does not believe them, she also does not believe that emotional abuse is really abuse. DVRO Renewals - yeah, good luck. She wants you bloodied and bruised for those.

Her legally wrong decisions have driven my client to near-suicide over the course of an eighteen month domestic violence case that resulted in a crushing defeat after a contested trial based on extremely thin evidence. Example: the court's decision was based on (1) "disturbing the peace" of the petitioner by my client traveling to her home state with the minor child when there were no legal proceedings and no TRO in place, and (2) text message exchanges with the petitioner, in which the petitioner was a willing participant in the conversations. These are legally wrong bases for the decision. Example of cruelty: despite the parties agreeing that my client could have eight hours per week of visitation, Judge Cadet ordered Rally as the visitation supervisor, which results in my client having only one hour per week with her now two year-old son. This is a violation of my client's civil rights. The matter is on appeal. Judge Cadet never should have become a judge because she has an evil heart. We can only hope that she leaves family law after the initial two year assignment, because having Judge Cadet in family law ruins too many people's lives; profoundly damages the rights of litigants in her court; and also discredits the judicial profession.

Judge Chinhayi Cadet’s watch, fairness takes a back seat to bias, and justice is unevenly applied.

Judge Chinhayi Cadet’s watch, fairness takes a back seat to bias, and justice is unevenly applied. Judge Cadet methodically favors the affluent well, connected and represented by prominent local attorneys and male litigants. She is egregiously failing to uphold Judicial Canons and fundamental legal standards. Indigent litigants and survivors of abuse describe Judge Cadet's courtroom as a place where disadvantaged parties—especially women, minorities, and self-represented litigants—are left feeling silenced, retaliated against, made to feel marginalized, isolated, and financially drained. Many state that navigating Judge Cadet’s courtroom feels like walking into a battle already lost—unless you’re wealthy or well-connected. For those without such advantages, the experience can be deeply disheartening. Take a look at the online petition asking for her removal: https://www.openpetition.org/us/petition/online/call-for-the-removal-of-judge-chinhayi-cadet-from-the-san-mateo-county-superior-court Another review made by attorneys: https://www.andrewwatters.com/hall-of-shame/chinhayi-cadet/

The most incompetent and unqualified so called judge I've seen.

The most incompetent and unqualified so called judge I've seen. Her eyes get glassy when a pro se litigant starts talking and she suddenly wakes up from her slumber once an attorney WITHOUT an accent starts talking. Zero due process. Hard evidence (banks statements, subpoenaed applications, text messages, emails etc.) are completely dismissed as if never presented. Takes veeeeery long breaks even in the middle of same case during a regular short hearing. If the litigant says something that actually makes sense, Cadet interrupts mid-word and gives a turn to an opposing counsel. This callous individual should have never become a judge unless her goal was to screw up as many mothers and children as possible. I think she is being told by Lee, Franchi or Holt what decisions to make in targeted cases. I cannot explain her erratic rulings any other way. [Redacted by Ed.] San Mateo County Court needs to be investigated through and through. [Redacted by Ed.]
