Exceptional Judge, he did his job to allow the case to progress fairly.

Exceptional Judge, he did his job to allow the case to progress fairly. At trial he understood the complexity of the case and the difficulty of our old-age litigant, who was hard of hearing and had to be wheel chaired in. With that, he exercised immense patience in allowing the litigant to participate in the judicial system. From what I understand about judges, many of whom seemed to rush matters, whereas, Judge Hesseltine somehow disposed of a complex case, that require more than the usual attention, in a efficient and just manner. Very professional judge.

Great Judge, I had the judge in a civil defamation case which was long and complex requiring an enormous amount of patience which was satisfied by the judge and his staff.

Demands timeliness on paperwork but then does not reciprocate by signing off on proposed orders for weeks and months.

Demands timeliness on paperwork but then does not reciprocate by signing off on proposed orders for weeks and months. Nothing said at hearings to explain or justify a ruling. Treats Pro Per parties poorly. Very frustrating.

Will always go with his tentative.

Will always go with his tentative. He announces it and then lets you try to speak, but he's not listening to anything you say. Gives no feedback on and attention to your arguments, even those on solid legal grounds. Seems like he's doing everything to clear his docket by dispensing of cases that are on legally sound, 170.6 him. Ex-appellate lawyer at court of appeal, and tends to think he knows it all
