David W. Lewis

Associate Judge David W. Lewis is not fit to wear the robes, he is biased against anything other than what he wants. He has no regard for the law, you can quote state or federal laws, case law, or code of conduct and he will ignore it or claim that it's not what you think it is. He granted a motion to reduce the size of the jury for jury determination of fitness from 12 to 6 against the defendants objection, and clear refusal to waive jury rights. The motion had only been filed 2 days before and he made it clear that it was his intention to rule in favor of the motion that day, I wasn't able to name specific case law off the top of my head but did mention that it's continuously been held that jury reduction in criminal matters including fitness require a knowing and intelligent waiver by the defendant, and that the Illinois supreme court had found that the Illinois statute reducing jury size in civil matters to 6 person was unconstitutional. Mr. Lewis should be facing criminal charges not sitting the bench. This is only a small part of judicial misconduct in one case in Edgar County Illinois.
