Judge Baytieh makes rulings that include ethics decisions in his statements of decisions in the trials that he conducts, yet he was fired from the DA's office for his lack of ethics. Therefore, he really should not be judging others' ethics when his own bad ethics have made headlines across southern California. Moreover, he is rude, condescending, arrogant and one of the most unpleasant bench officers I've ever had to endure for days of trial. He makes biased procedural decisions that have a major impacts on the final outcomes of trials and i would recommend that anyone who wants a fair trial file a 170.6 against Judge Baytieh.

Judge Baytieh is condescending and insulting.

Judge Baytieh is condescending and insulting. He will admonish someone and then tell the person that they have the right to do it. He is always interrupting people and does not allow attorneys or self-represented parties to complete their words. He is very biased towards anyone with the smallest red flag. He seems to think that he is still a deputy District Attorney. It is nearly impossible to get him to grant any ex parte application. Many attorneys are disqualifying him.

Baytieh is lazy, a lightweight, and ill-tempered.

Baytieh is lazy, a lightweight, and ill-tempered. He often is unfamiliar with basic case procedural history and facts. He relies on unqualified probate department research attorneys to work up law and motion matters for him, and consequently he refuses to entertain meaningful oral argument. He denies the parties meaningful oral argument by refusing to disclose the research attorney’s tentative ruling until mere minutes before the hearing even though the tentative ruling was prepared several weeks before the hearing. Baytieh’s refusal to allow the parties sufficient time to review the tentative ruling and prepare for oral argument is a tactic he uses to effectively avoid law and motion matters for which he does not prepare.

Judge Baytieh is extremely inappropriate and does not belong on the bench.

Judge Baytieh is extremely inappropriate and does not belong on the bench. He demonstrates total disregard for the law, does not uphold legal standards, and rules based upon his personal preferences. He does tremendous harm to individuals who do respect and uphold the legal standards. He has demonstrated a lack of interest in the facts and the evidence, refusing to hear from counsel.

Judge Baytieh should be removed from the bench.

Judge Baytieh should be removed from the bench. He is outright mean to parties and counsel, and particularly so to attorneys from other counties. As other have said, he is also very biased. Any little thing from a party, with or without admissible evidence, will set him off and cause him great bias towards that party. He presides over trials with a very heavy hand and does not allow attorneys to put on the case they have prepared for and disallows what should be admissible evidence.

OUTRAGEOUS GOVERNMENT CONDUCT. Says it all. Baytieh should be impeached.

Clear bias. He disregards important evidence. That seems to be par for the course in his courtroom.

I really liked Judge Baytieh when he was first elected to the bench and put in probate.

I really liked Judge Baytieh when he was first elected to the bench and put in probate. However, as someone else has said, he has become mean, adversarial with counsel and parties, and the slightest thing makes him biased against a party. Must be all the stress from the bad press he is getting from the jailhouse informant scandal he allegedly participated in while still a DA before being fired by Spitzer.

Judge Baytieh should not be on the bench.

Judge Baytieh should not be on the bench. He is unnecessarily mean - not rude, mean - to the parties and attorneys who appear in his courtroom. Judicial temperament is important and he lacks any restraint. Feel free to use your 170.6 on him - he is the worst judge on the OC Superior Court Probate Panel by a country mile.

Judge Baytieh is a smart, even-handed, hardworking judge. He fairly considers the arguments and evidence and is not biased. Although I haven't always liked his rulings, they have always been well-founded.

HAS NOT FOLLOWED THE RULES OF COURT IN PROBATE CASES.

HAS NOT FOLLOWED THE RULES OF COURT IN PROBATE CASES. PUTTING OLD LADIES OUT OF THEIR HOMES AND LEAVING THEM HOMELESS, DIVISTATING OLD LADIES THAT CANNOT PROTECT THEMSELVES. PROBATE COURT WAS DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE SURVIVING SPOUSE AND THE KEEP THE SURVIVING SPOUSE IN THEIR HOME. HE IS IN CHARGE OF THE CARES ACT AND IS NOT ACTING IN THE BEST INTEREST OF SOCIETY. TAKING SURVIVING SPOUSE HOMES FROM THEM AND FORCING THESE OLD LADIES ON TO THE STREETS. LEAVING THEM HOMELESS AND DEVASTATED.

SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN VOTED IN AS A JUDGE FOR PROBATE COURT DOES NOT KNOW THE PROBATE LAWS AND IS NOT FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURES OF PROBATE COURT. PROBATE COURT WAS DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE SURVIVING SPOUSE AND TO KEEP THE SURVIVING SPOUSE IN THEIR HOME. *PUTTING OLD LADIES ON THE STREETS AND TAKING AWAY THEIR HOMES. HE IS IN CHARGE OF THE CARE ACT AND IS DOING THE OPPOSITE OF THAT. COMPLETELY WRONG IS NOT FOLLOWING THE LAWS OF PROBATE COURT PUTTING OLD LADIES OUT OF THEIR HOMES. LEAVING OLD LADIES HOMELESS. HE WAS FIRED AS A DA FOR PREJUDICE STATEMENTS.
