Eleanor J. Hunter

Eleanor Hunter treats her courtroom as though it were her personal bedroom and displays overtly biased, racist, and, improper conduct at every turn prioritizing her personal feelings and whims over her judicial responsibilities, including apparently going on personal vacation in the middle of a life case. She attempts to prevent defense actors from being in her courtroom by berating them publicly for using their phones whilst every member of the prosecution team is permitted to do so. I encourage other people who have witnessed or been the victim of similar improper conduct in her courtroom to join in making additional formal judicial conduct complaints and support efforts to replace her.

Smart and snappy. Not afraid to rule on tough cases. Knows the law. Protects both sides rights. Makes great appellate record.

A judge that believes in putting rapists and murderers in jail for life, a rarity in the state of California. Thank you for your service.

Sadistic and bitter this judge masks her low IQ by deflecting away from real legal issues with pathetic attempts to intimidate submission by putting everyone on the defensive from her pointless hostility. An insecure narcissist without a moral compass whose only claim to fame is hurting other professionals so that she can momentarily feel superior.

My work experience dealing with complex issues in scientific data and previous work at a law school showed me that Judge Hunter does an excellent job in her courtroom!

Appears sadistic in her pointless chastising of attorneys only to boost her tiny intellect with bullyish fake self-aggrandizement. Tellingly, this is the judge chosen by judicial management for serious cases on the 9th floor which reveals their own disregard for the decency and integrity of our justice system. Pretty much a crew on the 9th floor of lazy old hacks or sadistic narcissists. Hunter fits right in.

Has no qualms about disparaging male defendants. A rude, biased, and disgusting judge.

It is frightening that someone this bitter can be a judge. Incredibly biased against male defendants; shows a glaring positive bias to the prosecution. If you are a male defendant, and you get Hunter, have your attorney immediately file for a new judge.

I had the uncomfortable displeasure of watching this bench warmer belittle, berate, slander, and verbally abuse a male inmate during sentencing. There is nothing to be gained by continuing to knock a man down, who has already lost his freedom, and any semblance of a decent, productive life that he might have had. I actually hoped that a bailiff would walk up to her bench/chair/oversize throne and tell her enough is enough with the toxic vitriol. Hunter's behavior, and anti-male bias are beneath contempt, and totally unacceptable in a civilized society. Has the Los Angeles judicial system been degraded to the point of allowing someone like Hunter to serve as a bench officer? Surely, the system can do better than this.

From the start of the trial Judge Hunter showed signs of personal bias against the defendent being of the opposite sex and continued to show more signs right into the sentencing phase! This is a miscarriage of justice! I hope the appeals process recognizes this and the verdict is reversed and Judge Hunter is barred from the courtroom!

It is hard to know where to start with this review because Eleanor Hunter is just that horrific of a judge. It is embarrassing to our justice system, and frankly, we as American citizens should be horrified that this woman has ever been in a position of power under the assumption that she is able to be impartial. She is reckless and negligent in addressing people in her court room and does so with a stunning lack of professionalism. She is nothing more than an extension of the prosecution. She is one of the few people I have had the misfortune of meeting who not only conducts themselves in a malicious manner, but goes a step beyond and twists facts to support their ill-founded agenda. She is not a conduit of justice, but rather a stain on our system and leaves lives ruined in her wake. Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves knowing that she has been allowed any power in administering “justice.” If you want any shot at a fair trial, do everything in your power to get a different judge.
