Emma Castro is biased and crooked. She rushed through trials, doesn’t give due process, and if you’re not Latino , she can’t seem to empathize or hear you. She needs to retire. She had everyone exchanging evidence outside the courtroom, allows attorneys to cross examine but gives self representation no chance to. She will ignore your questions and silence you.

She's incompetent, racist, lacks acumen and good judgement. She definitely doesn't know anything about law. I doubt her qualifications. Although, I've left all to God and Nature to judge. Posterity will judge everyone accordingly.

I give her zero stars. I appeared before Commissioner Emma Castro in small claims court and left feeling completely unheard. I asked for a continuance or dismissal before evidence was presented because I needed to properly submit digital video evidence, but both requests were denied.

She’s terrible. Mean, doesn’t let you speak, does not have any ability to see nuance. She wastes everyone’s time and is drunk on her own idiocy.

She's racist, unfair, and has a horrible temperament.

I waited for my second hearing before the judge who would not allow me to present my motions. But she did the same thing in the second hearing. The bailiff starts to approach you with violent intentions if you assert your rights in court. Emma Castro is apparently attempting to become popular by putting landlords out of their homes. She is consistent in her bias and contempt of the law. I don't see a single positive review and if you simply mention her name at Stanley Mosk Courthouse - her victims start approaching you with extreme horror stories. If you sign a contract that would enable the party to go to LA County Small Claims Court - this judge will award for the squatter, the non-paying renter, for the defrauder, grifter or pergeror. I requested an investigation of a serial abuser of process - and this judge ignored my statutorily required investigation. I think she was wrong on virtually every point, and in her trail summaries - she herself perpetrates pergury beause she says "The party provided testimony..." when in my case - she blocked testimony, motions and objections. This is not a court - it is a trap; and Emma Castro is beyond incompetent. I believe she has some serious psychological problems. This is just my opinion. But 100% of the posters seem to agree. She is still on the bench. This means the presiding judge is OK with this mess. This is one of the reasons people are fleeing California. There is no government. All of Emma Castro's supervisors must go also.

How does the presiding judge allow this judge to steamroll so many people's rights? She is completely unfit. But more than that - the presiding judge needs to be removed for allowiing this judge to remain on the bench. This deparatment.

How on earth did this repulsive loony toon get a job in this court? What a freakshow. This woman is nuts. She's gotten so deranged she's now yelling at imaginary people. Want to file a small claims case? AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

It's a waste of time and resources. All she does is to make emphasis on irrelevant issues that wouldn't help to solve the court case before her. She shouldn't a judge because she's doesn't soon intelligent. My case was simply and clear with substantial evidence and physical damage but she choose to rule in favor of a disrespectful defendant probably base in race. Posterity will judge everyone accordingly. She should be asked to retire because she got nothing meaningful to offer to the legal community.

Seemed categorically anti-landlord and generally misanthropic. Seemed not to have reviewed evidence prior to hearing. Disputed credibility of my evidence despite receipts. Gratuitously brusque and impatient with everyone I saw in the courtroom that day. Why is someone such as she in any people-oriented business?

She's s dishonourable judge that doesn't know what she's doing. Despite knowing the defendant were lying, she wasted my time by adjourning my case until she ruled in favor of the defendant. Probably she did that due to race but God and posterity would judge everyone of us accordingly. She can swear under oat to uphold justice ⚖️ and yet act contrary. She's too slow and talk too much on irrelevant issues that wouldn't help for the cases she handles. She is just not smart and she be replaced. Overall, her justice ⚖️ system is a complete sham and a disgrace to the judiciary system.

She ignores her own previous rulings , lets you talk after her decision is made …bad judge, should be replaced

I would avoid this loony toon at all costs. Castro was always abusiv, nasty, ill tempered and nutty, but it's gotten to the point where her dementia has her yelling at people for imaginary reasons. Literally saw her yell at a litigant to shut up and not interrupt when the person in question was just standing quietly. She does pick favorites like a weirdo from the outset, she doesn't know the law and she is very, very dumb. How this scarecrow loon job got a job is beyond me. Stanley Mosk is full of the worst judges but she takes the award for most theatrically stupid.

Unfortunately Emma Castro doesn't have the temperment to be a good commissioner and judge small claims court matters. I have been before her

THIS COMMISSIONER CONVENIENTLY LOOKED OVER ALL THE PLAINTIFF'S EVIDENCE WHICH WOULD HAVE ANY JUDGE AWARD RENTAL SECURITY DEPOSIT PER CIV 1950.5 IN THIS HEARING Emma Castro DID NOT PERFORM DUTIES. INSTEAD SHE UNOBSERVED & DISREGARDED THE PLAINTIFF PROOF OF security DEPOSIT HELD.
