Read he twice over a few months this year sent a baby back to parents against social services recommendations to the contrary. Baby dead the other day. Parents alibis not known to me Regardless, Pitchel appears to be a poor judge of facts. I can't think of a greater reason an individual is no longer qualified to be a judge than that he is a poor judge of the facts. Pitchel should be pitched out of the NYS judiciary.

Pitchal knew or should have known that Ella was at risk. He has no excuses. The public needs to disabuse ourselves of believing that our judges are pillars of society who make decisions based on evidence, laws and reason and that this was just a lapse of judgement. There’s just too many of these cases and no reason to knowingly put a child at risk. Unfortunately, the truth is that our courts are infested with [Redacted by Ed.] and who know they face no accountability for vicarious abuse and murder. While they may feign innocence, they know exactly what they’ll doing. If Pitchal had any shame or remorse, he’d step down. The fact that he hasn’t tells us all we need to know. Pitchal is apparently still PRACTICING as a judge. Based on the death of Ella Vitalis and the suffering she experienced prior to death, Pitchal ought to be appointed head of the NYC Sanitation Dept. I sat on the benches of a couple of judges in my past, but this guy has to be booted out ASAP.

Erik Pitchal needs to resign from the judiciary asap/ see NYT article of today 10/3/23 - he is a disgrace and dangerous to children. There are no words for his incompetence. I’m sad for the children whose lives have been in his hands and who have died because of his actions.
