extremely lazy and apathetic.

extremely lazy and apathetic. lacks capacity to comprehend and decide on complicated cases. Would rather cases settle, fair or not, because he does not want to bother to go to trial. Took four years to get to trial. Many dates were canceled last minute. Then almost a whole year to get a horrible decision where the calculations were not even done correctly. A fifth grader could’ve done better. Always started late ended early with extended lunchtimes. can’t believe citizens are paying for this egregious waste of taxpayers dollars. I thought this judge would protect me from financial abuse and make it right in the end. he did not. It’s frightening that someone so unsophisticated, lazy and unintelligent has so much power.

Disengaged.

Disengaged. In two years 9 continuations,11 adjournments, 1 reschedule. Never had opposing litigants argue their point in court. Only had litigants in court room with him twice. Once just to hear attorneys introduce the case, second time to say it's a simple case and refer to mediation. Basically violates NYS Judicial code of conduct part 1003, subdivision B,paragraphs 6 and 7

Judge Murphy presided over my family post-divorce for years and unfortunately recused mid case, he is a kind and understanding person and judge in regards to children and complicated parental dynamics post divorce who always followed precedent and understood the importance of both parents being involved in a child's life. The very first court appearance this year, without Judge Murphy presiding, 10 years post-divorce, my child never returned home, or called again.
