no longer able to judge - admitted to an extensive statement of fact as to EACH AND EVERY ethical procedural and behavioral blunder and violation listed (over 20) and now, he has been cornered in to a resignation agreement rather than face the Judicial Council music, so to speak, and get removed and lose his CALPERS. It is about time the CJP is kicking unsafe behaving judges to the curb. The Commission on Judicial Performance alleged two new ethics violations against Judge Gregory Kreis, reaching 21 counts in total. Notice of formal proceedings against Kreis allege that he lied during a debate about never being disciplined by the CJP. While Kreis has been in a position as Judge he made sarcastic remarks in family law hearings and knowingly had a hand in misconduct practically everyday in the courtroom. From the beginning Kreis has been a tyrant in the courtroom. Kreis should not have an occupation in the court system anywhere within the borders of the United States of America and he shouldn't be a lawyer either. Bar Kreis now. Once Kreis cannot work in the court system. Kreis can get a job working in fast food restaurant at least it will pay $20.00 bucks an hour somewhere far away from Humboldt County where his behind isn't known. Then instead of Kreis wearing a black rob in the court system. Kreis can choose to work at In and Out Burger where a white hat, or work at McDonalds in an school bus yellow outfit or at Burger King wearing a cardboard crown. $20 bucks an hour fixing up hamburgers and fries and he gets a free meal a day. But with the way Kreis has character and behavior issues he would probably spit in everyone's food and behave as though he didn't do anything wrong. Kreis is a strange unsafe person that shouldn't have been a judge in the first place. Glad to see him go! I hope no one coddles and caters to this demon spawn. Narcissistic abusers do not need the public's sympathy.

Yesterday, a super majority of voters removed Kreis from the bench. He will be forgotten. But, let's not forget his many victims. It will take a lifetime for some of his victims to heal. He bullied the vulnerable. He laughed at sorrow. He abused power. He brought shame upon his family, his community, and himself. It's extremely rare for a judge to be charged by the ethics commission. It's even rarer (if not unprecedented) for a judge to be charged with so many heinous offenses and crimes. In his response to the ethics commission, he blamed his victims and friends. May justice be done.

Dishonorable Gregory J. Elvine Kreis a man baby should be kicked to the curb. Gregory J. Elvine Kreis has a short temperament towards people in the courtroom and outside the courtroom. From the very beginning since he began the job as Judge his behavior is totally out of line both on the job and in personal social situations. The man clearly is unfit to work as a judge. He is a dishonor to the judicial system. Laws have to change about how a person can be a judge in the U.S. superior court system. Because as of now seriously disturbing people that become lawyers that become judges are unsafe mentally disturbing people with short temperaments, that flip out, wreak havoc in the court system, ruin people's lives and behave bent on not doing justice at all no matter what. Judges should not have immunity. The position as a judge should not be a job for life where a judge cannot get terminated. The governor is appointing the wrong type of people to be judges in the superior court system in California. When unfit people are appointed as Judges it is extremely hard to get the Judicial Commissioner to review the complaints and bar Judges. Way too many judges are unfit to be judges. Yet the judges aren’t being kicked to the curb. The judges work decades and decades in the superior court doing a lot of wrong to a lot of people, parents and children. Then the judge retires without being held accountable. New bylaws need to be implemented. New policies should be implemented. When Judges are out of line and display awful behavior that comes off disturbing, mentally unbalanced and unsafe then the person working as a judge shouldn't be working in the superior court system at all. End this socialist dictatorship now!!

Judge Kreis lied yesterday about insurance deciding to settle the civil battery case filed against him. The battery happened at a yacht party on a public lake. The case is not covered by homeowner's or auto insurance. The alleged battery did not happen while the judge was at work. No insurance company covers an alleged battery on public property. Judge Kreis hired his long time friend Patrik Griego (Eureka based) to defend him. No insurance company would hire an attorney with a preexisting relationship with a client. Judge Kreis is paying the monetary settlement out of his pocket on the eve of his election announcement. If he lied about insurance paying the settlement he can't be trusted on the merits of the case.

As a retired atty I've been before Judge Kreis twice, once representing myself. He was great. He had read the papers, was familiar with the case and the law. He didn't "buy" any BS!

Despite multiple witnesses testifying to mother's past & current drug abuse, child neglect and unlicensed driving, Judge granted custody of 3 minor children to mother in favor of sober father. This ruling was over the sworn objection of the mother's own parents! His rationale was inexplicable, condescending, haughty and, apparently without repercussion to him. The children are now with their father because the mother died of a drug overdose six months after his ruling.

Serious temperament deficits on numerous occasions in numerous settings. == Dismissive of pro se individuals, effectively silencing them as SOP. == Overt prejudice favoring attorneys associated with "his" watering hole at Ingomar Club; behavior well-documented. == Does not read. Often fires from hip. Flails and retaliates. == Currently (2022) involved in civil case in Shasta County over drunken racist behavior by Judge against Public Defender on PD-sponsored "party boat" where "severely inebriated" Judge taunted a PD he labeled as "jew boy" as Judge flirted with wife of PD, and subsequently pushed PD into lake, with cell and Rx Meds in pockets. Case pending; Judge has fought tooth and nail. This judge is a blight on the Court, a blight on the profession, and should be removed from the bench, with additional review by the Bar. Where is the Commission on Judicial Performance? Is there ANY intelligent life in that institution? Posters to this site, and Humboldt readers of these comments with experience with this judge should, if warranted, file a complaint with the Commission on Judicial Performance. There are way too many unjust judges throughout different counties throughout the state of California. All because the Governor appointed them. Once they receive a position with qualified immunity they turn on people the utilize the court system seeking fair and Justice. Bias erratic Judges that have a complete disrespect for due process and ignore the law are dangerous people. There are lawyers that are perfectly capable for writing legitimate complaints filled with the points and authorities with the evidence to support complaint and send them to the Judicial Commissioner. Write your complaints and get this Judge kicked to the curb!! There is way to do it. It can happen. All you have to do is be persistent and follow through with it.

Time to start filing your complaints with the Judicial Commissioner. The more complaints to the Judicial Commissioner the better. You can get Gregory J. Elvin Kreis disbarred. I was in Gregory J. Elvine Kreis court room in 2016. There were no reviews of this Judge at that time. But now I see there are a plethora of bad reviews about Gregory J. Elvine Kreis. When I was in his courtroom his behavior was bias and crude. When it was my time to speak he cut me off when I was trying to explain my side to the story. I told him he was infringing on my freedom of speech, which fell on deaf ears. He wouldn't let me get a word in edge wise. Then granted a court order on false pretense against me. Now I see that numerous other people are complaining about this Judge. Not surprised by all the bad reviews now. I knew this guy would be a bad person in a position of power. Get him out and kick him to the curb!!

Instead of my comments, I'll give you a few of this judge's comments to pro per litigants witnessed thanks to Zoom hearings: 1. "You don't get to decide the best interest of your child...that's the court's job". (When did the U.S. Constitution remove this right? 2. "I don't need to hear from your witness. I've already made up my mind" 3. I'm dismissing your requests for order for no proof of service" (all proofs of service were submitted to the Court so he lied). 4. "I am granting full custody to Mother because of your behavior and your constant blaming your child for the problems". Judge said this to the Father in front of the minor, age 12. 5. "I am granting custody to Mother as the established relationship". The Mother abandoned minor before her 2nd birthday and didn't regain custody until she was 6 1/2. Father was primary (and for 4 years the only parent)". Judge never read the file. 6. "I'm not taking testimony today, but I am granting Mother's stay away order". This after a witness was waiting to testify for Father that Mother's accusations in her TEO were false. There are a few hundred more of these kinds of statements by a Family law judge, but what's the point? He's now presiding judge and is being recused daily by public defenders and private attorneys who don't trust this 'loose canon' with any case. You can even diagnose him just watching him: Grandiose Narcissist. A short, chubby, bully, who bullies innocent parents and children.

This judge has proven himself a disgrace time and again. He was never voted in to be a judge in the first place. Nobody wants him as a judge except a few of his disgraceful buddy buddies at the courthouse. Humboldt County courts are a disgrace for keeping him. He is nothing but a schoolyard bully all grown up. It is well known he is biased and favors his buddy lawyers who he drinks and parties with outside the courtroom! If you do not have one of his buddy lawyers kiss your butt goodbye, he won't even allow you to talk and provide factual evidence. He consistently shows bias. He consistently and deliberately lies and changes facts to his liking. He avoids the truth to protect his ego. If you have evidence that goes against his desires and can prove him wrong he will punish you more for making him look like the moron that he is. He needs to have his law license revoked. He is nothing but a crook. He is no better than most of the criminals he puts behind bars. It is a demonstration on abuse of power and everybody who has dealt with him knows it whether they admit it or not. There are a few brown nosing lawyers (R.Hanson) who are in bed with this guy. Humboldt County is doing a great disservice to our society keeping him as a judge. I have vast amounts of evidence of his dishonorable actions I could share. He has failed his sworn duty as a judge. Time for him to go.

-This judge went directly against advice of 2 professional child advocates who wrote on my child's behalf. -After I went above and beyond his requirements of me, he punished my kid and myself even more with literally no explanation. -My ex wife has custody of my son now after being arrested twice for child endangerment, DUI, resisting arrest...etc. Not once but TWICE! She has broken court orders many times, not shown up for exchanges, missed phone calls, shown up for exchanges on drugs...etc. He held her accountable for nothing. -He gave me a five year RO for calling my ex a cowardly psycho bitch when she was lying and hurting my child repeatedly. Other than that I have been extremely kind and respectful to her for years while enduring her constant abuse. -He literally made up blatant lies about me such as I "refused" to provide evidence of completing an anger management program when in fact I had provided evidence many months earlier! I had worked so hard and did overcome my struggles. I was not allowed to dispute his ruling or even say one word! He gave me credit for nothing! I might as well have thrown everything in the trash and not even tried. -Humboldt County deserves a judge who is not mentally ill and will actually protect children. Like the other comments, this guy is hurting children, enabling domestic violence and mental abuse. It is really sad. Humboldt County needs to start voting for it's judges. This guy is apparently invincible.

Judge Elvine-Kreis does not uphold parents to equal standards. I believe he is damaging many children's lives by his excessive punishments and standards against one party and not the other. He won't accept women and Mothers can be just as guilty of domestic violence as men. He repeatedly places children with a parent who is violent, manipulative, mentally ill, abusing drugs...etc. without any safety net. I've seen these same parents be re-arrested for the same crimes because he refuses to uphold any standards or accountability. He has no problem showing bias. He does not address certain truths and facts depending on his personal opinion of you or his emotions. Allows dishonesty and hurtful comments in his courtroom. I feel sorry for the children's lives he has destroyed so I feel this needs the be said. Not to mention his out-of-court shenanigans...

No honor or integrity. Super dishonest. Good luck of you don't have a lawyer! You're done! He is best buds with certain lawyers. Enables lying under oath and will not allow you to talk, dispute or submit evidence. Puts kids into the hands of drug addict parents without any accountability or common sense. No standards. Ripping children away from good honest responsible parents. He should be arrested for child abuse. Should never be making decisions for kids. He enables and should be arrested for child abuse. If he doesn't like you he will punish your child.
