So I applied for a civil harassment restraining order. The first hearing was extended for the other party in submit more evidence. I was never served copies of whatever they submitted. He refused to grant an extension to include vital evidence, and was in a hurry to get in to his next case, even using the words “we’ve been at this for 25 minutes already.” I was served only half of the documents I was supposed to be served, and when he asked me if I had gotten the evidence the other party submitted, and I said “no I didn’t get that” he simply moved on. He gave me ONE opportunity to speak before the defendant, and no opportunity to respond afterwards, even though they made points that were easily disprovable I was not given the chance. He quickly made his ruling and everything I said after that was “well I’m sorry you feel that way but I already made my ruling. Let’s move on to the next case.” His attitude was completely arrogant and he did not even grant me 30 total minutes to make my case. A judge should care that they are making the correct and fair decision and he clearly did not, he cared about moving on to the next case.
