Holly J Fujie

In my experience, Judge Holly Fujie’s courtroom demeanor and rulings have raised serious concerns about judicial temperament. Judge Fujie has shown a tendency to favor defense positions and has, at times, openly critiqued plaintiffs' counsel while seemingly aiding the defense. These patterns have caused concern regarding fairness and due process in civil matters. If you represent a plaintiff, I would strongly recommend having a court reporter present to ensure an accurate record of the proceedings. The court’s tentative rulings in appears inflexible, even when presented with clarifying facts or persuasive legal arguments. While I respect the challenging role judges face, my experience with Judge Fujie suggests that litigants and attorneys, particularly those representing individual plaintiffs, may face an uphill battle in her courtroom. I will ding her moving forward.

Opinionated, has personal issues and takes it out on litigants. Very forgetful of facts, contradicts herself. Avoid this Judge at all cost. Horrible Jurist, must resign.

Holly Fuchi. She stinks!

Holly Fujie breaks about every rule/law you can imagine. I lost my job leaving me with zero income but Fujie even though the dissomaster showed my ex-wife paying me $240.00 a month Fujie turns it around and orders me to pay. Then one of her clerks side bars with her and she lowers the monthly payment to $40.00 a month. I told her that she can't order someone to pay spousal support with zero income and Fujie told me I better barrow the money. Three time I brought my ex-wife to court because she somehow received my entire 401K and after Fujie ordered the ex to send me half, the ex shorted me over $500.00. Fujie refused to here this and copped an attitude raising her voice claiming I'm always showing up in court trying to reduce my monthly spousal support payments. She should be disbarred.

Definitely pro defense. Mean spirited and nasty disposition. Makes faces in court while you’re talking. Inflexible. Tentatives are the gospel. Even if they violate the law or the wrong interpretation of law. A sure 170.6. Will find a way to undercut you. And do all she can to tell the defense.

Seeks to criticize Plaintiffs' counsel and aids defense counsel. Just can't help herself. If you represent plaintiff, always bring a court reporter with you in her Court. Will look for ways to hurt or limit even the most meritorious case.

The poster who wrote, "The last two hearings, Judge Fujie has not only been mentoring" a defense attorney, "but has suggested potential arguments that he should make," is so right, it's not even funny.

As an earlier commentator said, Judge Fujie has a bad case of "I'm the smartest person in this room, can't you see that?!" Unfortunately, like many who are similarly afflicted, she's not as bright as she thinks. She's also not particularly pleasant. In fact, she can be gratuitously nasty to counsel. She's one of those judges who gives the impression that she's thinking, "I deserve so much better than this job."

Judge Fujie is very nice and makes everyone feel welcome in her court. But she is so pro defense it's frightening. If I had read some of these comments earlier, I would have made sure I had a court reporter for all my hearings with her. I have a poorly trained defense lawyer on the other side. The last two hearings, Judge Fujie has not only been mentoring him, but has suggested potential arguments that he should make. It was so bad at the last hearing that had I had a court reporter and had a transcript, I would have forwarded it to the Commission on Judicial Performance. She reminds me of some criminal defense lawyers I ran into while with the DA: she thinks all defendants have been wrongfully accused (sued) and are victims of government overreach (Plaintiffs wrongfully seeking compensation). Plaintiffs beware!

Judge Fujie isn't practical. She has that lack of people experience that comes from handling major litigation at a big defense firm for her entire career. I feel like what she couldn't do as a litigator -- i.e., bulldoze Plaintiffs, she now does as a judge. Even after 10 years on the bench, she has no understanding and no respect for the Plaintiff's bar. She can only see things from her defense, big firm perspective. Onerous litigation, in her mind, means those nasty plaintiffs wrongfully suing people. No matter how right your case, no matter how sympathetic your client, Fujie is through and through a defense lawyer. And be careful: she loves to sneak things into her rulings that screw over Plaintiffs' lawyers.
