Over-analyses every issue, often getting wrapped up in completely collateral considerations. Slowest judge I've ever seen - took 10 minutes once in trial to decide whether or not to declare a mid-afternoon recess.

He has slipped a lot in the last few years. He often has a negative comment under his breath for the prosecution. I've appeared in front of him many times over the years. Of all of the judges in our district, he has remained the most aloof. Thankfully, he WILL follow the law.

Judge Sachs is a very fair, very scholarly jurist. He can be bullied by an overly aggressive lawyer and made to change his rulings to some extent.
