I would really like to know why this Judge is even on the bench and deciding cases. This man is 81yo and he is clearly not right in the head. I talked with this Judge the other day and he clearly could not understand what we were talking about in matters of importance to the people we represent. The people that work with him know that he is incapable of being a reasonable jurist and only shrug and nod during his wandering decisions or discussions. That is why his cases are being overturned in the 9th circuit on a regular basis. It is sad that this Judge cannot understand that it is time to go fishing instead of sitting on a bench he no longer understands. Justice should never be delayed because they want to stay on the bench well past there time and capabilities to do so.

The big issue with this Judge is that he is inept. Very limited at understanding of the law. He opts to ignore presiding case law for his own skewered reality of the law as he sees it leaving defendant's and plaintiff running to the 9th circuit because he is incapable of giving a fair ruling because he is working with the attorney generals office instead of being the arbiter of the truth. Alaska deserves better justice then this.

Judge Singleton is best characterized as a Libertarian. His many years as an appellate court judge in the Alaska State System flavor his rulings strongly. Be prepared to debate Cicero, the Magna Carta and the meaning of life before he imposes sentence.

Unwilling to follow and apply the law if he personally disagrees with it.

Likes to hear himself speak, and indulges himself. Rambling philosphizing, not learned in the law, although he thinks he is. Years on the bench have made him think he actually belonged there in the first place. Unwilling to follow precedent.

Judge Singleton is now in Senior Status, so we will be seeing less of him.
