Judges have to put up with a lot of garbage these days- everyone judges them based on their own personal outcomes with no concept or appreciation for the thousands upon thousands of decisions they have to make. God bless you Judge Colaw- just know the vast majority of the public appreciate you and support you!

Absolutely a superb Judge in every way!! I would go to war for this guy!! Need more like him!!

This is a man who has devoted 28 years to public service. Been responsible for having to make tens of thousands of decisions about the most important matters in the community. The results are truly amazing and positive. He has been regarded as one of the best lawyers around; been regarded as one of the best judges around; had the responsibility for teaching judges statewide; and has brought positive recognition and awards to his community. Awards and recognition specifically for fairness in sentencing. To think these types of forums and social media get used to attack him and his reputation because a party or litigant didn’t like the outcome of their case is terrible. Just terrible. The truth is they seek to harm him because he is conservative in his views and philosophy. Period. If you don’t agree and do cashless bail and probation for everyone all the time, you become their target. I’m praying for you Judge Colaw!!

Reading these comments is funny. Which is it- does he hate women? Or is he way too preferential to women who victims of crime? Can't be both. It is obvious what is going on here- a few disgruntled people who didn't like the ultimate outcome for themselves or a family member- then become a keyboard warrior to secretly & anonymously try and trash the man. Looks like he has presided over 12,000 plus cases, it's not possible that everyone is going to be happy with the results. This is a really really great Judge and an even better human being!! The community has and is being well served by him!

Judge Colaw is a great Judge! Maybe one of the best ever! I have personally and firsthand watched him work for over 10 years. I have also seen all the other judges do the same. He is superior in every way. I know there have been multiple studies done on criminal sentencing statewide, by very liberal parties, yet they always end up finding that Judge Colaw is the fairest sentencing judge in his circuit and also one of the fairest sentencing judges in the entire State of Florida. Claims to the contrary are nothing more than lies from disgruntled defendants or their families. I am very sad seeing such destructive and untrue comments. Wish people could be better.

Crooked, supports supports predators or who prey on women.

This judge is extremely biased and does not look into the cases, he randomly decides his sentencing based on a persons race. I’ve seen him give a man probation for sexual battery on a child, then turn around and give YEARS to a Man with a different race who’s charges wasn’t nearly as bad .

I feel that Judge James M. Colaw is fair, honest and makes his decisions in a judicious manner according to the law and its guidelines. He will not be liked by all that stand before him. However, I have observed that he will treat each person before him in an unbiased way that defies rebuke from others. Thank you Judge Colaw for serving our communities with respect and dignity for all.

Bias and prejudice across the board, very nasty, and cold hearted especially toward African Americans, I have sat in this man courtroom and watch him give a white young man a slap on the wrist for literally holding a girl at gun point and attempting to rape her, and after that a young black guy came behind him with a VOP and got 30 days in jail. and he smiled about it.

First of all the Lawyers and prosecutor's are going to defend this man regardless of what the mother's,wife's,children or witnesses have to say. Judge Colaw is very biased,cold hearted,racist and completely unfair when it comes to sentencing time. And let's not forget all the deputies in baker county that beats our sons up after they have cuffed and/or shackled. They have to put on a uniform,gather 2 or 3 of their co workers together then beat innocent men just so they can have a little power trip. And people really believe the sheriff and judges don't know what's going? Come on now,they all know what's going on and choose to turn the other way. I will be overjoyed when baker county is exposed for all their unfair,crooked,extremely evil actions. I pray God have mercy on each and every one of your souls but in the meantime I hope you all get put in the same prisons with all the innocent men that colaw has illegally sentenced. See how you guys like a dose of your own medicine. An eye for an eye right? It's down right disgusting how these so called men took oaths to serve and protect or to be fair and have mercy yet those same men break the law on a daily basis and nothing is done. Judge Colaw is extremely biased and unfair. He is as much a criminal as those he has handed sentences to. He does not pay attention to the facts and hands out sentences like bubble gum. It's a disgrace to see someone like him working in our justice system. Perfect example of what's wrong with this country. He should be ashamed of himself.

I am a 30 year criminal defense lawyer. This Judge quite frankly is one of the best I have ever seen. He is very intelligent; very prepared; very professional and always kind to everyone in his courtroom. I love my profession and it makes me sad to see other supposed attorneys write untruthful reviews about this Judge solely because they are unhappy with a decision he has made. It is a tough job that requires difficult decisions. I don’t particularly agree with some of the decisions the Judge makes, but he is without question fair and he is consistent and true to his beliefs and the law. Period. You cannot ask for anything more than that. He is a blessing to my profession! And when I am in his courtroom, I am proud of my profession.
