Jo Lynn Gentry

Jo Lynn Gentry is disgrace to the family court. There is nothing honorable about this person. She doesn’t apply law to any ruling, she doesn’t read evidence or motions, she is completely biased and unprofessional. Moreover she is incompetent and allows cases to sit on her desk for months. In fact it has been 11 months we have been waiting on rulings from her and nothing even after several status conferences and both attorneys attempts have to spell out exactly what is pending. Every time we go to court she has no clue what the case is about.

We had a switch of judge in the beginning of our case after pretrial. Gentry was completely unprofessional. I had so many issues and filed motions and they were never addressed. I felt since we represented ourselves she wanted nothing to do with our case. She made up her mind before trial specifically saying she knew everything she needed to know about the case before ever allowing me the chance to speak. She never reviewed my evidence, the only time she shown me a glimmer of hope is when I called her out on that. Clearly not educated in domestic violence. She dismissed my protective orders and basically said to get along with my abusive ex. She isn’t aware of how much she is risking mine and my children safety. I’m sure if we had lawyers or roles were reversed the outcome would have been a lot different.

Judge Jo Gentry is as described by others below. She has the worst temperament and does not apply ANY parts of the law. Will quickly take sides and steer the ruling in that parties favor and is completely biased to Fathers! Completely not impartial and had almost decided the case even before hearing. Judge Jo, not all Fathers are deadbeats and you should not treat us all with one stroke of a brush!! This judge should not be ruling any cases! Allowed a vague decree to favor mother against a Father who has been paying and abiding by prior decree for years without even listening to respondent.
