This judge is disfavoring lay person litigant in our lawsuits against tortfeasors, including the U.S. government agencies. He readily accepted the report and recommendation of the magistrate judge, who partially cited cases and picked a sentence against us. Magistrate judge ignored the holding of the same case favorable to layperson. This judge ignores his own order re-opening the case for post-appeal motions. When layperson litigant filed for appeal costs and fees, this judge deemed the motion untimely.

In civil cases, Judge Kronstadt ignores established precedent, and is pro-plaintiff in cases relating to employment discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful discharge. He has a propensity to ignore facts favorable to employers, and is loath to grant summary judgment. Even when he sees that he has erred, he obtusely maintains his original position. Additionally, Judge Kronstadt will badger and reprimand attorneys in his courtroom within hearing distance of the jury. He also has a tendency to grant more latitude to plaintiffs' attorneys in questioning witnesses at trial.
