John Doody

I would give this guy zero stars if possible. My ex has repeatedly violated our parenting time order and I was asking for the court to enforce it. He allowed my ex to start the hearing off by making a slew of false accusations against me and Doody told me to shut up when I objected. He then proceeded to grill me on her false accusations and refused to allow me to make my case or see any of the evidence I had submitted which would have proved my ex's allegations false. The hearing ended with him telling me what a horrible human being I was while still awarding me court fees from my ex. You hear horror stories about biased and unfair judges and this guy fits the bill in every way possible. The really sad part is this guy is appointed by judges in Maricopa county. I can't see how they are unaware of his behavior in court and still allow him to see cases as a commissioner. You can not expect a fair hearing with Commissioner Doody.

If I can do a zero start on this Judge I would, as a DV survivor that has been impacted not only by my abusers abuse, but my abuser was convicted twice of DV and has supervised parenting time for his children. But he removed a minor child on an oop that has been in immediate danger during the abuse I have endured from my abuser. He sided with a man with a excessive felony history, who lied under oath, doody refused to listen to DCS reports or PD reports or testimony, didn't want to read statements of people whom witnessed the abuse. It's gross negligence. And I urge anyone who is DV survivor to face the reality this moron sides with convicted felons with a significant history of DV. Shame on this man

Incompetent and irresponsible. Quashed a restraining order where my ex put hands on daughter, violently. Ex convicted of DV many times but because she is a child he said that's just parenting but if he did that to me its illegal????Way to protect our kids. He also said "I would never have granted this restraining order." Actually you did grant it when I first filed so what in the world. Judge Doody needs to step down.

I was afraid for my daughter’s life, they disclosed information of physical abuse in retaliation because my daughters refuse to “get involved” send me a message. They claimed father dragged them by the hair from their room to the living room. Apparently one of my twins was so afraid she screamed for someone to help out of fear and frustration! He is a convicted DV abuser. Long list of crimes, abuse was the reason I divorced him…and this guy denied my order of protection saying “children can be treated like dogs” in the state of AZ.

I agree, he will never grant an Order of protection against a woman! Even if she’s abusive! He gives women advice on what to say and do, and ignores any evidence presented against them. He handles women with the softest of kid gloves, even when it’s proven that they’re lying to his face.

Minimal intellectual capacity and minimal ability to understand when an order of protection is appropriate. I sough an order of protection after ex beat up his child in front of my child and terrorized her. Judge Doody said "if you can't prove that he hit and injured YOUR child I cannot hear an Order of Protection." He did not see a problem with a young child fleeing from a house barefoot screaming for help with an abusive man chasing her. It was. So scary a third party called 911. Judgy Doody believes that domestic violence means body strikes and bruises and barring that he has no issues sending a child victim back into the home of an abuser. Seriously VAWA needs to evaluate this guy's rulings! INEPTITUDE equates to EVIL when a child is harmed

Mr Doody has preconceived judgements. Will never side with a father. Gives the mother information during the hearing so she is aware of what to say and what not to say. It’s very unfortunate we have such an incompetent commissioner here in maricopa county. My only comparison to him is our current commander and chief Joe Biden. He constantly makes clerical mistakes, loses his train of thought. He is not fit for his current role. It’s just very sad that whenever a father sees he’s been assigned to comm doody there is no chance whatsoever. Arizona needs young, intelligent, people with reason.

Disappointed in the biases and unsureness of commissioner. He let my ex submit exhibits that were not available or filed properly or with copies. Seemed to be giving mother legal advice and subtle hints on what to say and do.

Judge was confused about exhibits and filing, debated with his staff. He seemed to forget the rules and who was who in the hearing. I have no DV with my ex, but he was too bias/old fashioned with his stereotypes and explanation of his "rules" to make a fair assessment, called a DO in the room to force my ok with his tactics under duress.
