Disappointed that this federal judge doesn't understand his job in a CIVIL case brought by the ACLU.

Disappointed that this federal judge doesn't understand his job in a CIVIL case brought by the ACLU. Nobody asked him to babysit state criminal cases. The ACLU wants oversight into the astronomical and impossible to meet PRE-TRIAL bail amounts with no accountability from the good ole boys who run the county AND its court system. Guess he doesn't want to get in the way of a new 400-million dollar for-profit prison in the state with the most incarcerated people, per capita. After three years he refuses by dismissing the case? A Trump appointee nominated through cloture, so the ruling makes sense, in that respect. Otherwise, it is asinine and legally deficient and will be overturned on appeal.

Probably one of the stronger EDPA judges in most regards.

Probably one of the stronger EDPA judges in most regards. Very polite and professional toward counsel and litigants. His orders in our case were well thought out and supported, and his writing is clear and simple. Not much bias in his courtroom demeanor—he gives counsel a lot of leeway in trying their case, but doesn't tolerate shenanigans and is able to keep a trial on the rails.

Really great judge who should probably be on the 3rd circuit someday.
