Judge Kastrenakes sanctioned us $5,000 for not appearing in-person for a hearing when his own Notice of Hearing contained Zoom information for remote attendance. The $5,000 sanction was for opposing counsel's roundtrip costs for traveling roughly 20 miles to the WPB Courthouse and back. And the lawyer was black.

"You know racism is bad in America when a black man can get thrown in jail at someone else’s trial...” “What’s even worse is that reason the judge gave. … In other words, he got sent to jail because he was the only black juror. So why not put him on another jury? Because that’s where you say you need the black people. You know where you don’t need more black people? In jail.” YOU BE THE JUDGE the next time he is on the ballot.

"Kastrenakes [WHITE MALE], a civil court judge...sentenced Somerville [BLACK MALE WITH NO PRIOR CRIMINAL HISTORY] to 10 days in jail, a year of probation, 150 hours of community service, $223 in court costs and ordered him to write a letter of apology to the court." "At the Sept. 20 contempt hearing, Kastrenakes began by scolding Somerville [who] had no attorney representing him." "Kastrenakes threatened more jail time on top of the 10 days if Somerville failed to complete his 150 hours of community service, at least 15 hours per month." YOU BE THE JUDGE THE NEXT TIME HE IS ON THE BALLOT.

Judge Kastrenakes is an old white male on a power trip. He does not deserve to be on the bench. Total disgrace.
