Judge Schlesinger destroyed my family’s lives. He deliberately vacated a well deserved verdict by the jury after going through 11 years of litigation just to get in his courtroom for trial. I’ve had hundreds of surgeries due to the negligence of an Uninsured driver in Miami who caused a very serious accident resulting in permanent physical disability and will require care on a permanent basis. The jury sat for three weeks and did an outstanding job overall but Judge Schlesinger tossed out their well thought out verdict like yesterday’s newspaper. Despite that he was a former attorney for insurance companies, I was hoping for justice that never came to my family and I who did nothing wrong whatsoever with cause. The trial was very successful and the judge who unfortunately had to sit through a second trial due to Judge Schlesinger’s decision, had actually implied that the jury were accurate in their decision and that a second trial was not warranted if she had been presiding. Now, we are struggling daily as we have been for almost 21 years due to the accident and now will continue to suffer permanent financial hardships due to this matter.
