Joseph A. Marutullo

I find Magistrate Judge Marutollo to be pleasant and even-tempered, but be forewarned that if you are before him on a civil matter you can expect a very abbreviated discovery schedule, which will not be extended absent exigent circumstances. So if you are assigned to him put that case on the front burner and work with your adversary to make sure to get everything done as soon as possible. His settlement conferences are substantive and he works hard to try to resolve cases.
