I normally don’t write positive reviews for judges.

I normally don’t write positive reviews for judges. In this case. I’ve read nothing but that comments and I’m really surprised because I’ve had nothing but good experiences with this judge. I’m plaintiff, attorney and appearing in pro per- and I have to say we’ve had several dozen lawn motion issues nothing but tumultuous fighting between adversaries and the judge has been beyond there and has taken the time to read all of our papers. Thus far this litigation and there has been more heroes than I could remember, but I always left with the feeling like the judge understood the issues, he took the time to read our papers, and his rulings were, in line with the law. And this is coming from somebody who is usually very critical of judges. If I had a choice, I would have him try all of my cases because he, like judge Rico, are the best of Stanley Mosk.

There's no blind lady of justice in Lipner's courtroom.

There's no blind lady of justice in Lipner's courtroom. Despite the Harvard Law degree, if you're a father in a divorce and custody hearing you are screwed. It seems that you are "Presumed Guilty" and have an increasingly impossible job to prove your innocence. Get another judge/any other judge to possibly find a fair arbiter of Law. Vague orders and needless continuations and cancellations to "meet, discuss and reconcile" only serve to enrich the lawyers at your expense.

A lot of hype about how great of a judge he is, but I strongly question that concept.

A lot of hype about how great of a judge he is, but I strongly question that concept. Always ordering parties to "meet and confer" even though he knows one party is mentally ill or not compliant. It's impossible to navigate. You will come back 15 times and go nowhere in your case. Doesn't seem to pick up on liars, in other words, is not street smart at all. Very easily swayed. I am not a fan.

Does not follow the letter of the law.

Does not follow the letter of the law. Makes orders that are impossible to comply with, like forcing you to try and do a notice by publication or posting in a foreign Country. Does not know the law and will not listen to you when you try to explain the law. Completely unreasonable

[REdacted by Ed.] If you are assigned Lipner as a family judge, and I would say as a judge in general, recuse him immediately. Do not even give it a chance unless you are willing to go through hell or simply go to hell, lose your time, your money and, worse, your child(ren) if you are caught in a custody battle.
