I have no personal experience with this judge, my rating is based simply on the case of USA v David A. Hicks (Case No. 2:05-cr-00040) in which he sentenced the accused, who had no previous convictions, to 30 years for possession of child pornogaphy. As as abhorrant as this offence is, a sentence of this harshness brings the administration of justice into disrepute. (I am a retired Canadian lawyer and judge.)
