Kathryn Karayannis

I am submitting this statement to formally express concern regarding the handling of my family court case by Judge Kathryn D. Karayannis and the conduct observed during proceedings in my case.

Many parents and community members have raised serious concerns regarding proceedings in the courtroom of Judge Kathryn D. Karayannis in Kane County family and juvenile court matters involving DCFS. Concerns expressed include allegations of due process violations, lack of proper communication with parents, limitations on parents being heard in court, and questions regarding constitutional protections during child welfare proceedings.

As a parent who has spent over three years navigating the Illinois juvenile court system, I feel compelled to document and report my direct experiences with Judge Kathryn Karayannis. Her conduct on the bench raises serious concerns about judicial bias, abuse of discretion, and disregard for the constitutional rights of families appearing before her.

Very bias not a fair judge at all. Bad temperament as well.

Horrible person, literally is so rude and nasty. Has no heart or remorse, doesn’t care about what’s best for the children, I have been doing everything asked for the last 2 years to get my children back… always extends next court date 3 months and now she wants to say it’s been “too long” and my children need stability so now they are trying to take my parental rights away. How awful !!!! I had both casa and my attorney on my side

She is very unconstitutional, biased, punishing and generally a terrible judge. She should check her law books and remember what she swore to when she decided to wear the robe. She is terrible and should be removed from the bench. She is tyrannical and nonsensical and denies due process. We have a constitution for a reason.
