Awful judge. Kendra Thomas would only let my lawyer speak for less than 3 minutes. OPC submitted documents the night before the hearing and claimed they never recieved notice of any minute hearings, even though they kept asking for more time and moving the hearing date. I felt like it was a complete waste of time. She didn't review any of my exhibits and when my lawyer tried to explain the situation, she kept cutting her off. I don't think she asked a single question. The ruling she made created no changes for either party. Overall, she seemed incompetant and like she didn't want to be there at all. She rushed every case before her, and gave no resolution to anyone.

I was a lawyer in Los Angeles for 12 years, but more importantly, I’m a father of two children, a boy 12 and a girl 7. In the year 2021 mid April, my then spouse decided that she wanted to file for a divorce. She did so in the worst possible way, false accusations, restraining orders, and all. With not a shred of evidence nor a single allegation of violence in her moving papers, she was granted a five-year restraining order and I effectively lost contact with my children, and my home. Over the next 3 years, I made 12 motions to three different judges, begging them to enforce my court ordered visitation hours, but none would even take the request seriously. summarily denied. Then, around the 3 1/2 year mark I was contacted by DCSF, which stated they intended to remove the children from my ex-wife‘s custody, I begged the representative from DCSF to give me a couple of days so that I can make one last motion for custody. That last ditch effort, landed before the honorable Kendra Thomas. Her unbiased and cerebral evaluation of the facts and the parties led to a decision that saved my children’s lives. I was granted full custody of both children in October 2024, today those two children have been growing and healing and developing in ways that could only be explained by the presence of God’s grace. There is not a day that goes by, that I don’t look up to the heavens and say thank God for commissioner Thomas. Her honor is bold, courageous, scholarly, kind yet stern, and in my opinion, the best magistrate that any litigant, male or female, petitioner or respondent, could ever hope for. But most importantly, by having Judge Thomas on the case, the children WIN every time. Thank you judge.

Superior Court and everyone who passes through her doors. The people of Los Angeles are fortunate beyond measure to count her as a guardian of justice.
