Thank you Judge Coogler for protecting our children. Patricia and Matthew Ayers deserved every year you sentenced. I hope other judges in this country will follow your lead when it comes to protecting our best resource - our childdren
The authority "state, government, most likely large business" will always win. He cannot help but to side with them, its noticeable in his opinions how he intentionally rules for them. An individual is fighting a losing battle for justice in his courtroom. He is awful; get another judge find a way, and get started working up an appeal. He cannot help but to protect these employers, it is his weakness in civil cases from meeting him and having a case or two with Coogler. If your a criminal case bring a rope with you you will be hanged at the severest, weather that is deserved or not is with the one above but in his courtroom it appears the harshest is the only menu. Many others and my civil case ended the same dismissed with prejudice. That means we all lost, multiple times. Spend your spare time ahead of time starting the appeal maybe on appeal but in his courtroom the only response is no. That to is the weakness of the republican in him.
Fantastic trial judge. You only need to try a case in front of a bad judge to realize how lucky the Northern District of Alabama is to have him.
Smart-knows evidence. Gets straight to the issues. No nonsense kind of judge who moves his docket.
Judge Coogler probably is the best current judge in the N.D. Ala. He goes out of his way to be fair and to treat lawyers well and does not display bias for or against plaintiffs or defendants.
He is harsh and not fair at all
I have seen him at his worst. He is too harsh on first time non violent offenders.He doesn''t take the time to weigh all the evidence before he makes a ruling.
I have seen Judge Coogler in action many times. He is polite, efficient, and fair. He seems to be a kind man by nature, but can be stern when the occasion arises: I have seen him give the harshest possible guideline sentence to a repeat-offender drug dealer, stating his reasoning very passionately. The sort of judge you don't mind seeing with a "lifetime appointment".
