Another NDNY disgraceful and disgusting judge. In my opposition to the magistrate judge's Report and Recommendation to dismiss my case for failing to state a claim, I cite a Supreme Court case law to support myself. I particularly cited a case which was ruled by Kahn and used the same case law to support his ruling. In his ruling, the Supreme Court case law became my argument and he dismissed my case for failure to state a claim.
In a ruling,it appeared Judge Kahn allowed the Pro Se's far too much leniency at great financial cost and stress to the other litigants. Additionally, he stated the Pro Se will be sanctioned if his order not to submit more materials is violated. It was,and the judge appeared oblivious. And his decision time... beards grow to great lengths.
Judge Kahn has allowed himself to be swayed by political sentiment in Central NY. He has not given an adequate review of the basis for the Onondaga Nation land claim. To rule that the Onondaga waited to long is to blame the victim who has been forced to give up their land. Produce for me NY's title there is no good title. There was a lease that wasn't paid it expired.
Probably the smartest judge on the NDNY. He is the judge you want for complex business litigation. He is known as "Lazy Larry" and sometimes takes the easy way out. But overall, his decisions are solidly researched and thorough. At trial, he sometimes can be less than fully engaged.
This judge is biased and predictable in civil litigation.
Seemed very interested, clearly read the submissions on sentencing - very fair and ease to schedule with.
Good judge. Very fair to all parties, but is generally lazy. Actually, he is really lazy. Opinions take forever, with cases stagnanting for years relative to decisions that could easily be made from the bench during oral argument. Opinions seem to favor plaintiffs.
Wonderful person. Pleasant in chambers and on the bench. Very easy to schedule with.
