I am a pro per plaintiff in a medical malpractice. Judge Arian was fair, took what I said into consideration more than most judges, and while I didn't get a fair shot considering the way the system is structured and favors doctors, Judge Arian gave me about as fair of a shot as could be expected. Other judges would have been worse. Overall, I think he is a good judge and well tempered and mannered.

One would think that when a California law library provides guidance to help self-represented parents navigate the complexities of withdrawing funds from blocked accounts, the court system would approach such cases with understanding and compassion. These instructions note, "Occasionally, a court grants permission to the parent, guardian, or custodian of a minor..."—a recognition of the delicate situations families often face. Yet, in this instance, the judge not only denied the petition but chose to remain in chambers, avoiding a direct and respectful conversation with the petitioner. Instead, the petitioner was left to endure the humiliation of hearing a harsh and dismissive decision read aloud by the judge’s clerk, in full view of everyone present. This decision failed to consider the parent’s struggles and the severe consequences that could arise. For instance, if the parent is unable to ensure the minor child’s timely attendance at school due to financial constraints, the state itself could intervene by issuing a warrant against them. Such outcomes only compound the stress and hardship on families who are already doing their best to navigate challenging circumstances. The role of a judge carries the immense responsibility of weighing not only the letter of the law but also the humanity of those seeking justice. In this case, it’s heartbreaking to see how this responsibility was disregarded, leaving a family in even greater turmoil.

Judge Arian was so kind and patient. My ex could afford a high-priced lawyer, and I had to represent myself. Judge Arian cared as much about what I had to say as the lawyer and ended up giving me the time with my dog that I asked for.

lacks basic temperament, legal knowledge, evidentiary rules and shows extreme bias. in a case where a minor who was molested sought a restraining order, Judge Arians sided with the predator and refused to protect the minor and children from a convicted felon with history of violence and active warrant. he also knowingly looked the other way on perjury and allowed recordings of children that violated California's eavesdropping statutes. This is the type of judge who should never be allowed in our legal system and strongly urge anyone with a case to seek a substitution if possible.

good example of judge who has allowed his position to go to his head. not very well-versed in law and shows bias and anger easily.

I witnessed Judge make a ruling in favor of a father gaining custody, even after mother expressing exhibits of domestic violence, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, harassment, coercion, and yes even child molestation to a 20 month old girl. Judge didn’t care to see evidence. Judge was very chummy with the attractive opposing attorney and didn’t take anything I said into consideration; however, believed all the lies He believed their entire declaration and mine backed up by evidence as lies. This guy seems very slow and biased. I’m sorry to have had to sit and hear this case. I see why he is temp. Maybe should be reevaluated. - concerned citizen
