I have to get this off my chest--I am in shock at the Leo Diana I'm seeing lately. He is not the same Judge I was in front of in prior years in Middletown. The bar knows he is in Stamford on a mandate to clear the docket, which we all wanted, but clearing the docket looks like a denial of due process to some of our clients. My way or the highway, and he knows nobody will file appeals because of who he is and acts like that--impervious to the normal rules and processes that should preside in the courtroom. Rumor is, his role as chief has gone to his head and he's become a rude, impatient egomaniac who is unable to be impartial any longer. Complex hearings that should take days take an hour or less, making it hard to put on a case. He's dealt some cruel, thoughtless, impatient decisions that clearly are insensitive to the victims he was once a champion of. In trying to clean up Stamford he's harming a lot of innocent people in the process. The judges there are reportedly under orders to deny all continuances until he's done his job, too. Stamford used to be too slow, and now has swung so far the other way that it has become a court nightmares are made of.
