Very rude and incompetent. I dealt with her during my divorce and she was nasty. I've been waiting FIVE YEARS for her to settle my mom's estate. She is a nightmare. Glad she was removed. Her ego is out of control. She wants to be respected yet she is a disrespectful [Redacted by Ed.]

Our probate case sat for two years before being issued letters of administration immediately after she was removed. There is no excuse for it.

I love how these judges have their husbands and mothers post positive reviews. NO ONE believes that someone rates Meg Reilly hi. No one would give her high marks. She is one of the most power hungry, conceited, unwise nepo-babies I have ever been in front of. Her temperament is the worst. She's miserable. Not surprised that this incompetent, destructive, useless woman was removed for a hostile work environment. She's hostile to everyone! I know her from both a civil and criminal perspective. On a criminal plea, while I was professionally and expertly taking 2 back to back baby DWI pleas, she stopped the second plea as it struck her (the allocution) as too similar to the first plea. (untrue. First has 2 beers, the next 3 whiskeys). Who cares? They're taking a plea! First of all, the practitioners that know what I'm talking about know, with an allocution, only the element of consuming alcohol and it impairing the ability to drive that's it!----the stoppage was arbitrary and capricious. She threw me out of the courtroom. Just due to her unprofessionalism and jealousy, she kicked me out and then told me to come back and finish. It was luck nothing happened. Yeah, she was jealous I handled two back to back pleas. If she wasn't a judge, she'd have no clients with that personality. Another plea was stopped by her, as she thought the defendant was getting too good a deal. She knew nothing and didn't know why the DA was giving a deal. Case was weak and cops beat the hell out of him. Horrible judge, horrible surrogate judge. Meg is an abomination.

My wife and I have a Supplemental Needs Trust for our severely impaired adult son who live at TCFD in Monticello, NY. The passed few years have caused us so much aggression, time and money because of the harsh treatment by this woman. We have had to layout money for mitigation and been treated like criminals. The staff is vindictive and demanding. We are very happy that she has been removed and we will gladly testify to her conduct.

Judge Reilly is a class act. I am a lawyer and when I first started practicing she was very courteous.

This particular Judge is fair and better than most. She actually makes attorneys complete proper paperwork. However, she likely does not hand out lucrative appointments to those attorneys who can keep her in power because she does not want crime and corruption in her courtroom. I am sure that is why she was given a poor rating. She was not doing enough favors for Joe Cairo, the Republican leader. Thus, Joe Cairo and the Democratic Leader made a deal to have someone else elected as Surrogate. That one person's name will appear on each political party line, Republican, Democrat, Working Parties etc. so that person will get into office. The people no longer have a right to vote in the election process for Judges. The corrupt political parties make the decision regarding who runs for office.

A mean and indifferent judge. Lacks professionalism and civility and makes no effort to effectively resolve disputes.

I too have suffered from dealing with this court. My case has been going on for eleven years. Judge Reilly has refused to hear my case and has forced me into a never ending arbitration. This time with the ex-judge Radigan, an 88 year old ex-judge that can't remember what side is offering which deal. It is a nightmare. It involves the estate of a decised mother who owned two houses. My client is in one and his sister in another. Her house is a legal three family. His sister has taken over $400,000 in rent and the court ordered her to put the money in an estate account. Instead, his sister has deposited this money for eleven years in her personal account. The judge does nothing to stop it. Grand theft and Judge Reilly sits back and watches. Does that make the judge an accomplice to grand larceny?

Reilly does nothing to assist. She sits back and lets federal and state crimes occur. You will suffer from her neglect. There is no justice in this court. It's like living in Russia. Stay away from this court. File a civil lawsuit instead.

The case sat in Nassau County Surrogate's Court for six years. I was denied a Hearing, and Judge Reilly denied my Motion to Dismiss, without looking at the evidence. I have to give her a zero rating, she was MIA as far as anything relating to justice goes, the transcripts from my deposition were riddled with errors, to the point of being slanderous. She has only added to my hardship. I wonder if the term Misprision, when I report evidence of a crime to a government official, and that government official does nothing to address the issue, does that government official become an accessory to the crime?

Disrespectful. Rude and unpleasant. Court staff seems afraid.

I have been waiting 8 years for this judge to do something in the case I brought to the court. Over $100,000. has been spent on lawyers for both sides. The request was for a full accounting of the estate, to date 8 years later, no accounting with backup. The judge has not made a ruling yet in the case. It has been on hold for two years due to covid and request to get it on the calendar are ignored. She is taking on new cases, but the old ones have been forgotten. I think she is hoping that we both give up! All this for an accounting of the estate, it’s mind blowing.
