I reported her to the Commission on Judicial Discipline for cutting our trial short, leaving our witnesses waiting in the hallway, ignorance of the law, allowing perjury, and blatantly lying in her order about both transcripted testimony and the existence of the relevant Colorado law. It was stunning. It may not be a coincidence that she resigned a few months later. It is outrageous that the Fourth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance voted that Judge Marla Prudek MEETS PERFORMANCE STANDARDS. This judge lacks judicial integrity, legal knowledge, has the worst communication skills,and most non attorneys woukd testify to her unfairness and how she punishes citizens through her rulings when she is challenged. Judge Prudek’s overall combined performance score on the 2022 Judicial Performance Survey was 2.8 out of 4.0, lower than the average score of 3.4 for all District Court Judges. This judge has a history of prolonging cases and not applying Colorado law. Her reputation across social media and chat groups of citizens who had her as their judge are consistent in their remarks. She's inconsistent, punishing, bias against women, isn't a parent and has no clue about children, protective towards abusive men, will not explain her rulings, etc. The judicial standards fail the citizens of El Paso County being so low in their expectations.

Additionally, her lack of understanding of complex financial matters and failure to adhere to Colorado statutes undermines the integrity of her rulings. Her record, including the lowest scores among district judges in 2021, and being recommended for retainment suggests a disregard for legal standards. Allegations of suing her employer for being exposed to HVAC fumes to deflect from accusations of judicial misconduct further highlight the seriouseness of the situation. With numerous complaints against her and abuse of her judicary position, it is imperative that appropriate measures are taken to address these issues and uphold the integrity of the judiciary. Update: In 2024, Judge Marla Prudek announced her resignation as of June 1, 2024. A good thing for all citizens of El Paso and Teller County.
