Congratulations to the 20th circuit court for clearing a path for justice in regards to future female litigants embroiled in domestic violence litigation. I witnessed Judge Evans exhibit antipathy and hatred in court, resulting in what can only be described as unjust and horrible decisions. Her punitive and biased treatment against female litigants in domestic violence and child protection cases were on many occasions an "utter embarrassment" to our legal community. Her unjust and biased rulings were not only seemingly complicit to the abuser, but also served to embolden them whilst punishing mother's and other innocent victims involved in divorce and custody disputes. Her rulings should be investigated.

Dealing with Judge Mary Evans was a literal nightmare and has destroyed my high need child mentally in so many ways. I, in no way felt I could protect my child or myself in her courtroom. She empowered my ex who is abusive and suffers from mental conditions that he has outwardly admitted in court. I lost every hearing in her courtroom, every motion. All motions were put off into the last absolute moment. The bias was unimaginable and defeated logic and evidence. I was bullied in the courtroom, contracts means nothing to her. The level of constant reference and comparison to her marriage and divorce was unprofessional to say the least. My ex was so empowered in that courtroom, he didn't even feel I had any recourse for his abuse and action because he would always win in Mary Evans courtroom. There was no justice in Charlotte county for domestic abuse victims with a judge like this in family court. When a woman files for divorce, there should be some indication that it is done for a reason. My reason was to get away from an abuser, why should my kids be left with that same abuser???? But when referencing her courtroom, the lawyers jokingly say, " a man would have to be an ax murderer for her not to give him 50% custody"

I didn't want to write a review until Judge Evans was no longer on the bench for fear of retribution from this unhinged individual. Ms. Evans was on the bench for 11 years. First in Collier County then in Charlotte County, handling family law cases. She was absolutely the worst judge I ever had the opportunity to appear before. She would not listen to evidence presented. She would interrupt and take over the questioning like she was one of the litigants building a case. Then she would issue a rambling order to rationalize her ruling. Sometimes, she just made rulings without considering any evidence at all. And if you were a woman, look out. She was very bias toward men. Now that she is off the bench, she is bombarding social media claiming to be an arbitrator and mediator, even though she is neither--all while using the title "Judge". There is no end to her narcissistic bullshit. Why does The Florida Bar allow this kind of behavior?

I have held back on reviewing this judge at all because I currently have an open case that she is overseeing. However, enough is enough. I have had the misfortune of being in her court room on more than one occasion since 2018. She consistently ignores evidence, sides with abusers, calls concerned mothers "annoying" when they present LEGITIMATE evidence that their children are being harmed, makes rulings in the best interests of the "dads" and never the children. All she cares about is flirting with counsel and the fathers, and her fragile ego. It is my opinion that this judge and her rulings for the last 10 years that she's been on bench in Charlotte County should 100% be investigated. I know many women and children whose lives she has completely turned upside down by siding with abusive fathers. The trauma she has allowed our children to go through is incomprehensible, and I hope that one day, someone is held accountable for her egregious rulings that have cost many tiny humans their ability to have a normal, safe life. I can't say enough how disgusted I am with a woman that puts her own pride and ego above the most vulnerable group of individuals we are supposed to protect: CHILDREN.

Judge Evan’s allowed me and my son to be abused for 3 years during a ridiculous divorce. She wouldn’t allow any evidence. Evidence that could have prevented my ex husband to now be facing lewd and lascivious child molestation with injury charges. The evidence was overwhelming. It is still unreal to me how these people in positions of power, whose job it is to protect and serve, seek the truth, justice… can play friends and favorites in such a serious situation. She knew we were powerless. The trauma and loss she caused me is unimaginable.

An utter Embarrassment to the profession. Should be disbarred and / or removed from the bench.

This judge is the most unprofessional, rude, obnoxious, embarrassing, and incompetent Judge I've ever experienced. From her personal appearance to personal attacks and bias against women litigants I am appalled at her presence. She ignores rule of law and causes undue hardship on those that have the misfortune to enter her courtroom. She should be removed from the bench.

Shocking that this judge has not been reprimanded on her bias behavior. Had two attorneys ask me how attractive my child’s father was because she loves attention from good looking men and more than likely will side with him. Mediator told me straight to my face she hates women and ignores evidence. If you are a woman get yourself a good looking MALE attorney that she can flirt with so you’ll win your case. Pray that you never go in front of her, she ruins families and you’ll pay big for it!

Without hearing or viewing evidence provided by a woman representing herself during a filing for an injunction for protection for herself and her children, Evans made the dispute a matter of adoption for the four children shared between the petitioner and respondent. The adoption hearing ended with a 50/50 custody order that has since been treated as an anomaly to DCF and Children's Network leaving caseworkers unwilling to "stick their own necks" out in attempt to have an emergency shelter in place motion and hearing set despite escalating documentation of DCF level violence and neglect. When case workers are asked WHY, they are unwilling to use documented evidence to go to court and defend the safety of the children now involved with a criminal of domestic battery during his time share, they state their fear of having to be in her court because "she will not have it." This judge makes it nearly impossible to defend yourself and be HEARD for a fair trail. Maybe she's bitter about not getting to keep her affair partner bailiff in Collier, maybe she's high on her on ego. I don't have the credentials to diagnose, but as a mother and frequent flyer of the Charlotte county family court room I would say she simply was voted in for the wrong reasons.

This judge ignored legal documentation. All her rulings should be reviewed. She talks about her own marriage and divorce way too much and then compares it to your case. This is not her personal therapy session. She’s biased and favors some lawyers over others and obviously has a great deal of favor for men. She interjects a lot of her twisted opinions on to people. Unprofessional and clearly bitter from her own personal experience. She lacks empathy for children as well and the maternal role. She has overstayed on the bench!!! She needs to go!! It’s been a dictatorship of the family court.

Would give 0 if I could. This judge is one of the most incompetent people I’ve seen in a courtroom. Doesn’t even look at the facts in a case. Is beyond petty, and so obviously sexist. You can tell when she *knows* a lawyer. Because they can be the laziest incompetent idiots as well and she loves it. I have casted my vote against her. As well as my entire family! Good riddance to this rotten hag.

Went thru a divorce after 30 years of marriage and 4 children. I was asking for alimony as he made about 3x as much as I did and after a bad car accident I had to cut back on working. She denied alimony because she said if I worked full time I would have an extra $300 per month for emergencies. I was told by several lawyers that she refuses to give women alimony and usually sides with the man, totally disgusting and I will voting against her for sure. Good luck to all the women that go before her.

First she disgraces the court in Charlotte County. She was shipped out of Collier because of an inappropriate relationship with one of her baliffs.Wish I could give her a 0. Everyone should print a copy of these comments and send them to Tallahassee. She has already destroyed my life but maybe we can protect others from her crookedness. She's an over the hill BROAD more worried about whether the male attorneys are still looking at her than dispensing justice. You can also send copies of these reviews to the Administrative Judge for the 20th Circuit. Let's get her GONE !!!!!

It's an election year and time to flood Gov. Santis with letters about this judge. She is a black mark on the Judicial System. Time to send her down the road. I NEVER thought I would hear a judge say in open court that purgery was not relevant or that she didn't even look at documents like financial affidavits. What the hell. A big wart on the face of the court that MUST BE REMOVED. It is a shame she can't be sued.she is not a judge. Thug is a better word.

She is normally a family law judge. If you get arrested, hope she is the one covering for the normal 1st appearance Judge. Because of her lack of knowledge she provided the lowest bail on charges for some heinous charged crimes on a person with a FELONY history (trafficking, identify theft, etc.) on the LOWEST bond (below industry standards) because she is "friendly" with the family in family law court. Biased and does not look at facts. Part of the good ol' boy system. Has refused to hear motions set and calendared by legal council and has even SAID IN COURT that... "I already made my ruling before hearing any of your testimony in this case." BIASED! BIASED! BIASED!

Too chummy with counselors. Does not care about the dignity of the court and truth. Unable to put herself in the shoes of others. Especially pro se litigants. Will sell out to the one represented by counsel every time. Owes too many favors and should be removed. The personification of everything bad that people think about the system.p82t

She deserves to be taken off the bench. Absolutely disturbing behavior in the courtroom. Asks personally offended when the facts are presented to her and she does everything she can to make you sound crazy if you have been through domestic violence. The other party got away with blatantly lying under oath even when proven wrong MULTIPLE times! She didn’t care. She picks a “side” long before you sit down in the courtroom with her and it is usually with the male. She skips over important facts and seems to ask questions that have little relevancy to the case. She is the worst family court judge I’ve ever dealt with. Hope she reads all these awful reviews about her because they are accurate.

Judge Evans is a lunatic. From the way she enters her courtroom to addressing the people of the court, or lack there of. She definitely abuses her rights as a Judge and makes biased decisions. She puts children in harms way when there is clear abuse happening. She is a poor excuse for a Family Law Judge and should be taken off the bench sooner than later.

It is clear she is of low level intelligence and refuses to recuse herself when there is clear bias.

judge Evans from Charlotte county needs to be removed from her position I had to she overturned my ruling of 90% custody the fact that the mother was involved in several DCF investigations and it dependency case and lied under oath and did all kinds of other things and judge Evans put the abused children back in the abused home I defile an appellate court which is $10,000 and they usually don't take it well they took mine right away it was overturned judge Evans is bad news she needs to be removed from the bench she has no business practicing law someone needs to file qja if everybody files qjs on her and complaints she will be removed from the bench Governor rents and Santa's should remove her
