Michael Washington clearly demonstrated bias and prejudice towards me breeching numerous laws, the Constitution and oppressing my rights using threats and intimidation towards me abusing discretion to my case refusing to allow me to present any form of real defense, exhibits, evidence, denying me my right to defend myself against false accusations. Repeatedly while I thought he would be fair, it proved out he was unwilling to hear any part of my side of the matter essentially forcing me into a corner I could not and was not allow to defend even after requesting to. He simply is biased and acts as a minister of his own prejudices. It didn't matter the Plaintiff committed crimes against me to him. He refused to look at that. He seemed to lack the intellectual capacity to be able to move beyond his own stuck mind. He sued and lost against the County of San Diego, decided in Orange County, after he was denied as a candidate to head the Public Defender's Office claiming he was prejudiced against on color of his skin claiming he qualified due to experience. He didn't meet qualifications because he had not been in practice as an attorney the year before. He failed to recognize the conflict existing as a judge, then to become head of this office would pose. He failed in prior appointments as well. He's a man who lacks common sense in practice, but also in fairness. His denial of my rights totally prevented me from any real form of defense forcing me to have ineffective counsel who admitted they were not experienced for my matter. A real ding dong!

Our family business has had a fair amount of litigation over the years, so I have seen how many judges handle cases. Judge Washington is ONLY judge I have ever been in front of who reads literally everything that is filed, including long exhibits - even for ex partes. In one hearing, he knew more about the case specifics, the name of subject properties, etc. than opposing counsel knew. It was impressive. He is neutral and fair, even to pro se litigants. Like any judge he can get irritated, but the way he handles it is with the utmost professionalism. He actually seems to enjoy his job and he is good at it.

This judge is a model for trial judges everywhere in every respect. If all the judges on all the benches emulated him, then all parties and lawyers would be treated fairly and courteously, all trials would be fair, and everyone would leave the courtroom win or lose feeling they had had been treated with respect and dignity.

Do not make the mistake of being a black male and having him as your judge. Move to strike at the earliest opportunity. He has a point to prove, and it is not in your favor.

Judge Washington is one of those rare judges who sees the light. He saw right through my narc ex and sanctioned him, ordered him to pay for my attorney's fees, and allowed for my children and I to move out of state. It is disheartening that many judges in the Vista Courthouse do not follow any sort of code of ethics. They can all learn a few things from Judge Washington.
