Michael J. Kassel

I recently had the privilege of trying my second case before Judge Kassel. Not only is his knowledge of the law second to none, but he also has a disarming and engaging way about him with the jury that encourages their attention and participation. He is surely one of my favorites on the bench.

I recently finished up a trial with Judge Kassel that settled after a few days. Any lawyer or litigant who has a problem with this Judge, is the problem. He is extraordinarily prepared. He knows the law better than any Judge in the Courthouse. He is a lawyer's Judge. He understands how hard a lawyer's job is so he is extremely accommodating of lawyers, their schedules and the scheduling of witnesses and especially expert witnesses. He is beyond fair to both sides, he shows not one ounce of bias or prejudice. When you walk into this man's courtroom, you are going to get a fair shake, period end of story. The jury in our case loved him. Every Judge in the State of New Jersey (our supreme court included) should be mandated to sit in his courtroom for just one day and they will learn how gifted a jurist he is. If they stayed a week, they would figure out how to make the New Jersey Court system the best in the country. That's how impressive he is.
