Nathan Vu

Judge Vu is everything a judge should be. He is exceptionally thorough, deeply respectful of counsel, and unwavering in his commitment to getting each ruling right. It is obvious that he does the work, researches the issues carefully, and approaches every matter with seriousness and discipline. He gives lawyers a fair opportunity to present their positions, listens with patience and respect, and then makes thoughtful rulings grounded in the law. Just as importantly, he is not afraid to make difficult calls when necessary. During trial, he remains neutral, composed, and even-handed at all times, creating a courtroom environment that reflects true fairness and professionalism. He also has a great sense of humor. All new judges should be required to sit in his courtroom and observe, because he sets the standard for what the judiciary should be.

I've appeared before Judge Vu as a litigant and worked with firms who have general civil cases before him. His rulings very well-researched. His tentative rulings are extraordinarily detailed. He posts tentatives on Sunday night. He's good about posting his tentatives on time (except when the Rams are the late game on Sunday LOL).

Judge Nathan Vu was one of the most [Redacted by Ed.] judges to be elected to office. My daughter was, and still is, in the custody of her mother, a porn actress and drug addict, living with her stepfather who molested her son and her, and this was in the CCI Report and other reports provided to Vu. He made sure that none of this would ever be litigated and ensured that my daughter remains where she is today. After 4 years of endless litigation, $140,000 on attorneys, Vu was removed from family court for showing the same bias and corruption as he did in my case. Once Vu was gone, the case was assigned to Judge Waltz who was worse than Vu, in that Waltz was clear to state that he was friends with Robert Beauchamp, the attorey for their family, and he is also a top advisor to one of the largest crime families in the United States.

No idea what that lady writing a 10 star review is talking about - Judge Vu is one of the most biased, misogynistic humans I’ve ever seen… he never lets the woman speak, and ignores all submissions and responses to any claims filed by men. I have no idea what drives him to keep getting up in the morning, other than to try to strip women of their rights and place children in harm’s way. Genuinely no clue what they’re teaching at Harvard and Yale these days, but I doubt they’re proud to list him as an alum. Genuinely sad for anyone who has to deal with this monster. The sooner he retires, the better for all children and families!

This judge is kind and courteous, but no matter how strong the argument, will always side against a pro se litigant in an apparent attempt to score brownie points with his lawyer peers. He gives the appearance of a lack of bias by listening carefully to a pro se's argument and giving ample time to address the court, but he will then take the case under submission so he does not have to announce his adverse ruling to the pro per litigant in court. I have experienced this twice now on civil motions that should have prevailed (according to experienced attorneys). He is respectful and courteous, but not even-handed to the self-represented, IMO.

In a civil jury trial, Judge Vu was very competent and fully engaged at all times, as well as respectful and professional to all persons in the courtroom. I didn't agree with every ruling, but I cannot fault him for any of them, as reasonable minds may differ on such matters. No time clock running, to cut off a case before it is finished, as some judges like to use, and he addresses jurors' concerns timely. I would not hesitate to try a case in Judge Vu's courtroom. And by the way, his staff are all very good, reflecting their boss's approach. I've spoken with other civil attorneys who have similar views of Judge Vu. I don't know why the ratings from his family court cases are so poor.

This judge is horrible!! He continues to allow my child to be placed with his father who is an alcoholic and drug addict making me responsible for monitoring the blood alcohol testing, results even though I actually work and cannot be available for this. I have repeatedly shown evidence and and established pattern of behaviors like threats and crazy behaviors and placing my son in harm. I showed proof repeatedly through texts, police reports etc, but the judge dismisses it and gave the other parent more time. Unfortunately hiring an attorney did not help even though the other parent represented himself the whole time contradicting himself.

Trying to get an attorney in-front of this judge is a joke law offices refuse to even take cases in-front of judge Vu . Every attorneys office’s and paralegals refuse to take cases, judge is completely unethical. Sorry to the children in his court.

This judge is extremely fair and a great judge of credibility. My husband has been dealing with a very complex custody issue over the last 9 years for which the mother continuously makes false allegations against him, all unfounded after multiple investigations, in attempt to keep his son away from him. Judge Vu has taken the time to understand the facts to make a fair ruling to ensure my husband’s rights as a father do not get lost in all of her false allegations. The court case is ongoing as the mother doesn’t follow court orders but her false allegations are no longer impactful in blinding the importance of having a father figure in his life. Thank you Judge Vu for effectively doing your job!

This judge has threatened CPS and Foster care multiple times. This judge has made terrible decisions that have put my children in a dangerous environment. He does not care what is actually in the best interest of the children. He gave custody back to an abusive alcoholic father who has assaulted me and one of our children. He doesn't allow you to speak and will listen to whoever he decides he likes better. There is no fairness or unbiased judgements from him. He would rather preach about how wonderful foster care is then actually come up with a plan that would be best for the kids. He refuses to listen to what the children have to say as well and completely disregards any information you present to him. He destroys kids lives. If you are in a situation where you are divorcing a difficult person he will blame you and threaten that if you can't get along with them that he will place your kids in foster care. I just read a comment and want to tell you judge vu also threatened to put my son in foster care ignoring that he is living in a gentle, loving home away from his abusive father. Judge said if I didn’t get along with DV perpetrator that he would put son in foster care. He took away my soul custody my son vomits every time he has to go visit his father. Judge ignored doctors orders and therapist. Get an order of your transcript and maybe we can start page about him. Judge Nathan Vu makes unacceptable decisions based off of assumptions instead of facts. This puts children's lives in danger. He does not allow you to finish your sentence, even when answering a question HE asked, and goes to the most extreme possible decision. He does NOT err on the side of protecting children. I am in a court battle right now and the Judge threatened for my daughter to go to Foster Care! I have no other words.
