This judge does not give a shit about domestic violence victims. Her concept of feminism is Lean In/Girlboss/probably some shit she heard Glenn Close say on Damages once, and god help you if you're a woman in her courtroom who is anything but. If you're facing economic crisis because your ex-husband abused you and you escaped but now you're suffering financially? Good luck babe! Judge Bershon does not have time for Ladies Who Are Poor. In her courtroom, if you can't afford brunch, you can't afford dignity. To be fair, she *will* smirk and say "Please know I'm not judging you! I get it. LA is SO expensive", (something she said to *multiple* female litigants/abuse survivors in the course of an hour), so you at least have that helpful reassurance from someone whose job on average earns around $250,000 a year. If your abuser uses the court system to continue abusing and terrorizing you after divorce, giirrlll, you better not assume Judge Bershon understands or cares! Sure, CA judges are required to partake in specialized training to identify psychological manipulation, financial abuse, emotional control, coercive control, and system abuse, so that systemic tragedies dont occur like they do multiple times a day in her courtroom. But, listen. Judge Brunchon is all about vibes, rather than the rule of law. If she likes your abuser's vibes better than your documented evidence of his longstanding abuse, then that's on you, honey! If you feel as though you might cry (not very Girlboss of you) because your abuser--emboldened now that the judge has made it clear that she could care less about what his ex wife has to say --has told lie after lie--and you're thinking like "Hey, wait a minute. Isn't the system supposed to care about victims of abuse? And arent judges supposed to have even the most basic understanding of it so as not to give abusers the green light to keep abusing to their hearts content since there are no consequences whatsoever? I thought i heard that somewhere?", well, then that sounds like a typical experience for female survivors of domestic abuse in her courtroom. It's bleak as hell.

WARNING: Incompetent, Biased, and Legally Illiterate

Judge Bershon will choose any woman's side, even if they are an actively dangerous parent, just to spite the man in any case. This is not a fair judge by any means and her decisions will negatively impact children for their lives. Children safe and stable in their dad's home should always outweigh the decision of letting an unsafe mother near that child solely because she is a woman. Do better!

Actively allowing a baby to remain in danger from favoring the side that is failing the baby. Allowing a baby to be around drugs and sex workers because she favors the mother. Absolutely no equal treatment. Beware. Plays favorites and doesn't care about the safety of kids.

Horrible sexist judge. She never comes prepared, never reads any declaration. In my last court hearing she didn't even knew what the RFO was about or who filed it. Inclines towards women irrespective or evidence or facts. Impatient, thinks very highly of herself.
