Judge Patria Frias-Colon was very Fair and controlled the court room. Judge Frias-Colon has a good character and I was honored to be an Alternate Juror on her case in September 2023. I give her a 10 out of 10 stars

`Been trying cases for decades, mostly PI on the defense side.

`Been trying cases for decades, mostly PI on the defense side. Appeared before her in Kings Supreme, where she was Acting Supreme. We ( both plaintiff and me),started out a little skeptical, because it was evident she did not have a lot of experience on the Supreme Court civil level. She worked hard, was respectful, as we were to her, listened to our respective arguments, and ran a nice courtroom. She is a decent judge who will undoubtedly get better. I think she “gets it”. I would appear before again, gladly.

Not lawyer friendly at all.

Not lawyer friendly at all. Knows very little about civil litigation. Needs to go back to Brooklyn, too many bad judges in Queens already. Very much in favor of defense.

Judge is very, very pro debtor/defendant, almost to an extreme fault.

Judge is very, very pro debtor/defendant, almost to an extreme fault. In this regard, on a number of occasions, by pushing creditors exclusively, and by rushing, when pro-defendant settlement parameters are resisted (even when settlement offers/counter-offers are made) to set a final trial date with a short deadline, which at the end of the day kills a settlement. However, this judge is not unusual in Kings Civil. Thus, creditors need to as a routine matter, serve discovery quickly, make motions to compel, make motions for summary judgment, and resist motions to vacate default judgment. I.E., make defendants, judges in Kings Civil, and the Brooklyn Volunteer Lawyers Project be forced to work and respect basic civil litigation even handedness. Kings Civil is not the US Bankruptcy Court in a Chapt. 7 proceeding.
