I had the experience of having the person assigned to my case. It was a computer trespass issue for bypassing a password to access my email account. The judge asked me what specific physical component the other party removed from my computer. When I explained that’s not what happened he stated “the law can’t possibly mean the way it is written” and dismissed the case. When I asked the court secretary for a copy of the audio recording, she went to ask his permission from his office. When she returned, she said he told her this case should have gone to a younger judge because he didn’t understand computers. This happened over 10 years ago, I wonder how many other cases he has had influence on where he doesn’t understand the law and just makes decisions without bothering to ask questions or researching the law.
