I just completed a complex civil case involving ten parties plus four insurance carriers. I was absolutely certain that it would never settle. There had been numerous settlement talks that always ended in acrimony. Our judge assigned the case to Judge Grewal for ADR and I was sure this was a waste of time. I could not have been more wrong. Judge Grewal was courteous, prepared and decisive. He worked late into a Friday evening to come to a settlement and, when it needed more time, he continued the settlement discussions into the next week. I was absolutely sure he would fail. He succeeded. I have never been before a nicer, fairer judge. Definitely one of the best judges on the bench. If you get assigned to Grewal, consider yourself extremely lucky indeed!

Judge Grewal presided over a complex trademark case I was involved with and I was very impressed by his temperament (one of the nicest, most cordial federal judges I have ever appeared before) and the thoughtfulness of his rulings on both discovery disputes and substantive motions.

An inexperienced judge, who simply refuses to learn. Shows favoritism to the defendants' attorneys even if they are incompetent. Does not follow the State or Federal precedents, but manufactures his own "precedents"; probably does not know that he is bound by those higher courts' precedents!
