This judge was an absolute disaster.

This judge was an absolute disaster. He was dismissive from the start and didn't seem interested in hearing the case. It seemed like he had already reached a decision before the hearing even began. I genuinely question whether he reviewed the file in its entirety, if at all. The experience was extremely frustrating and did not inspire confidence that the case received fair consideration.

I appeared before Judge Borkin on a number of occasions.

I appeared before Judge Borkin on a number of occasions. He is fair and evenhanded. However, I strongly suggest you appear in person. He is a newer judge and seems to lean just a bid towards parties in the courtroom. He wears bowties often, if not all the time.

I have practiced over 20 years in this county and this Judge has the worst temperament, rude, impatient and has a poor reputation with trial attorneys due to his condescending attitude and lack of competence. Strike this judge if this is your assignment.

Need to add rating to above comment.

Need to add rating to above comment. Borkon did once clearly give a 2 min. Narration about how he will write up a mediation agreement, that Inhave done hundreds of times, and expect you to finish negotiating... but then at the next hearing he didn't produce it and when asked by one kitigant he pretended to not have any recollection... thus, intetionally tricking one or both litigants or ii) having had his mind changed by the PRESIDING JUDGE unlawfully!

Positives: ----------- - Wise and generally seems to "get the table" before proceeding - Very (overly) interested in the fi e points of the lesser, intricate aspects of the law. - Gives speakers one good chance - Has ruled goodly for both larties in contetious cases to educate and demostrate a mode of slow acting and even levity. Negatives: ------------- - A true Intellectual and wise ... but at times does forget items or makes minor mistakes. - Has VIOLATED CRC and CP if he chooses to not like you - Sensely and in very lay meners does suppresses critical evidence that would go against the direction the PRESIDING JUDGE has already pointed thr case in the direction of. - Gay, sheepish, snobby, impatient (FULL STOP!) - I have witnessed several In Pro Per pare ts be so frustrated with Borkon they: i) hang up the video on him, slam.hands in the tables and get up yelling at him.and walk out, accuse him directly of being DISCRMINATORY & BIASED. - Perhaps most DANGEROUS as this upsets participants and instills (intetionally) instills a feeling of true burocracy and corruption- he direct Court Reporter "Doriann Renaud" to i).CHANGE transcripts after hearings and before they are issued, makes quazi-decisions and halts dialouge at certain juncture thus clearly giving one party the feeling of success only to omit any finds nor court orders in FOAH's (seemingly unannouningly "reserving" the issue to everyone's bewilderment- esp if much time, effort, and cost was exerted. - Quick to mock In zpro Per litigants whom.are trying their best and are only slightly off. - Amazing how neither any judge Inhave seen at HHJ nor this judge do.ANYTHING to truely smooth and bridge even simple topics - it just plainly.seems all Family Court Judges target, harass, bait, and make extraordinary mionicale efforts to engage in "quazi-entrapment" that causes much distress onto already ailing tax payers, forces them to act under duress, and physically injures them with a) hyper-tsnsio

At times he is impatient with people who don't understand court protocol or interrupt him, but he does take time to read all papers and comment accordingly. He is a reasonable judge who considers all facts.

New Judge who doesn't understand complexities of domestic violence in high conflict cases.

New Judge who doesn't understand complexities of domestic violence in high conflict cases. Sides with abuser due to lack of understanding. Needs DV training STAT. He seems to want to do the right thing, so training should get him up to speed.
