Excellent judge.
Excellent civil trial judge. Fair-minded. Considers material issues carefully and without bias. Able to ferret out material issues and identify irrelevant and misleading information quickly. Has meaningful dialog with attorneys and with the parties when necessary and when appropriate.
Probably the worst judge in Dallas other than one or two on County Court. He is simply not cut out to be a Judge.
Judge O'Connor likes to think out loud in wrapping his mind around complex or novel legal issues that come before him. I can see where this might come off as if he doesn't know what he's doing, but that certainly is not my experience. His preference toward fleshing out issues with the parties, rather than in his chambers, impresses me as the mark of a fair and thoughtful jurist. He also rules very quickly, correctly (even though several rulings did not go our way), and is very accomodating in scheduling.
This Judge is poor. He tries but does not have the experience to conduct civil trials.
A terrific jurist. I handled an exceedingly complex civil case in his court and he was thoughtful, professional, and fair. A credit to the profession.
He has no idea what he is doing in civil cases.
The Judge is biased. He should not have ever been appointed. He has no idea what civil litigation is.
